SPRING BRED HEIFERS
★
★
AI to Basin Excitement on 5-26-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit
from 6-11-12 to 8-8-12. Ultrasound safe to Excitement, due approximately March
4, 2013.
★
★
K122 is feminine, deep, and correct made with good butt and quarter.
★
★
A full brother to K122 was a superb bull selling to Dwayne Scar. This guy was a
meat wagon – incredibly long, smooth, deep and thick. I remember him being very
tame too!
★
★
Dam C228 is a very gentle and pettable cow. She never gets in a hurry, and K122
will be exactly the same way, especially since she is sired by the breed’s longest
standing Docility leader, CC&7.
★
★
C228 maintains a perfect 365 day calving interval, indicating superior fertility, one of
the biggest economic impact areas for cattlemen.
★
★
Maternal grandsire V225 was a high growth sire whose dam recorded 6-116 wean
ratio before we lost her. Three sons from this cow averaged $5450, and for a 1985
model cow, that is phenomenal!
★
★
Pathfinder grandam J303 was a 1990 model cow that ended her career with an
envious record: 13-100 BWR, 13-107 WR, 10-105 YR, 4-117 IMF ratio, and 4-106
ribeye ratio. Her 361 day calving interval on 14 progeny (one calf died before wean)
is truly phenomenal!
★
★
K122 is carrying an Excitement calf that will have a darn similar pedigree to our
$15,500 second top-selling bull in our 2012 auction.

AI to Basin Excitement 5-16-12. Pasture exposed to Hoover Emperor from 6-1-12 to
8-8-12. Ultrasound safe to Emperor, due approximately May 10, 2013.
★
★
K186 is a very moderate, deep, thick, stout heifer with a little more hair than most
Hoover females. She would be perfect for someone raising club calves out of Angus
cows. She will make a very pretty cow! Auctioneer Dustin Carter put extra stars by
this gal.
★
★
K186 will be a late calver this first year – at the first ultrasound pregnancy scan, the
vet predicted she had been bred and lost the pregnancy in the heat. At the second
preg check, she had successfully gotten re-bred.
★
★
Dam F363 has a solid production record and has earned Pathfinder honors for her
maternal strengths.
★
★
A maternal sister to K186 works in the herd, but we lost her first calf breech and
therefore she does not have a record to show.
★
★
Please read about Pathfinder grandam 9183 and the rest of this Ida cow family in
the footnote of feature heifer, lot 151. 9183 has produced three Pathfinder daughters!

K320 is one of the top Determination females we have raised. She injured her eye
last spring and had to come into the chute multiple times for treatment, but she
handled it like a champ. K320 is a super deep, high volume, stout girl that is correct
made and has extra bone. She has a gentle disposition.
★
★
Pathfinder grandam D153 has been a tremendous cow. Her only two daughters to
come to auction have both been photo features, and both been the top selling bred
heifer in our auction the year they sold. These two heifers along with two of her sons
have averaged over $10,000! Buyers with a keen eye for D153’s progeny include
Kevin Sweeney, Trey Brix, Ken Henggeler, and the Hoover Dame Syndicate.
★
★
D153’s full sister produced one of the top bulls of our 2012 crop, lot 22. Read more
about the Lady Ida cow family in his footnote.
★
★
D153 is one of three Pathfinder daughters from the 9183 cow that records 10-96
BWR, 10-108 WR, and 10-105 YR. Read more about 9183 in the footnote of lot 151.
