SPRING BRED HEIFERS
AI to Connealy Counselor on 5-10-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit
from 5-25-12 to 8-8-12. Ultrasound safe to Direct Deposit, due approximately April
6, 2013.
Flush sister to lots 133-134. See footnote under lot 134.
K45 is one of my favorite heifers of the entire crop, she is a chunk! Moderate framed,
thick and deep, this girl will make a superb cow. She sells only because she is
calving after April 1
st
, and we do not keep any heifers to calve after that date. K45 is
a high performing, big growth heifer, and my favorite animal from this excellent flush.
K45 was the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer calf of the 2011 ET heifer crop at
Hoovers!

AI to Hoover Dam on 5-17-12. Pasture exposed to Hoover Excitement K175 from 6-1-
12 to 8-8-12. Ultrasound safe to Hoover Dam, due approximately February 23, 2013.
Flush sister to lots 132-133.
K55 is stamped with the typical level top expected in Triple Stack offspring. She is a
pretty fronted, smooth made, long bodied female with good muscle. Mated to Hoover
Dam, she becomes even more valuable. K55 was born when it was 11 degrees
below zero, and her ears are a little nipped because of it!
K55’s donor dam G30 is a cow with amazing fertility, just like generations back in
her pedigree. We stole a flush from G30 as a first calf heifer (where she produced
11 transferrable embryos), and not only did she breed back quickly after the flush,
she moved up in time from her first calving date! She once again moved up in time
in 2012, giving her an amazing 341 day calving interval. She looks to have met the
strict requirements to make the 2013 Pathfinder report that will be released after our
sale in February.
G30 is literally a perfect uddered female, as were the four generations of Blackcap
Empress Ellston cows behind her in the pedigree (maybe udders in this cow line
were good before then too, but that’s all the farther back I can remember as the “Old
Bob” cow went to town at 19 years of age when I was 13 years old)!
G30 soared above expectations with her 2011-born calves – her natural daughter
was the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer calf among non-ET heifer calves. One of
her ET daughters (lot 132) was the #1 adjusted weaning weight ET heifer calf of the
crop! A full sweep! Two other ET progeny landed the 5
th
top weaning weight spot in
the bull and heifer divisions.
G30’s two sons were selected by Randy Berry and Lyle Wilson. Lyle’s bull was
literally the best buy of our 2012 auction – he was a whale of a bull for a mere $3500.
Weighing in at a 1455 lb. yearling weight, he was deep, thick, and powerful.
G30 cranked out another great calf in 2012, one of the top Excitement heifers of
the crop.
G30’s individual performance data: BW 70 lbs., WW 660 lbs., WR 112, YW 950 lbs.,
YR 106, IMF 6.43, ratio 120, ribeye 12.0”, ratio 106.
G30’s Docility EPD is in the top 1% of current dams!
Pathfinder grandam T15 is no longer with us, but ended her career of natural calves
with 8 sons grossing $51,750 for an average of $6469. That’s pretty impressive,
considering her first son sold twelve years ago, when our bulls averaged $2451. Her
last son was the #1 weaning weight bull calf of his crop, and was the top-selling bull
at $14,000 to repeat customers RBM Livestock.
T15 ended her career with 10-96 BWR, 10-110 WR, 10-107 YR, 10-102 IMF ratio,
and 10-109 ribeye ratio.
Fourth generation dam C57 has produced 43 daughter descendants that have worked
at Hoover Angus! 9 have earned prestigious Pathfinder honors, and it looks like one
more might be on the way. 6 Hoover donors have stemmed from the C57 cow.
