SPRING BRED HEIFERS
AI to Basin Excitement on 5-20-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit
from 6-4-12 to 8-8-12. Ultrasound safe to Excitement, due approximately February
26, 2013.
K193 is a bit above average frame size, but has excellent depth, length and a big
quarter. She’s a complete made, stout heifer. She has always been gentle, and lets
people pet her out in the pasture – she’s never seen a stranger. Her disposition
alone is reason enough to take her home!
Dam E371 has produced daughters working in three states: Dennis Smith in Iowa,
Calvin Schultz in Colorado, and Roger Thorn in Kansas. Roger called this past fall
to report that he really likes his female, and she raised the best bull calf he has ever
had on his farm!
E371 maintains a 363 day calving interval, proving high fertility – one of the most
critical factors in a cattleman’s profitability. She had excellent performance data,
weaning at 694 lbs., WR 114, YW 936 lbs., YR 112.
Grandam 9183, a Pathfinder, has been a shining star for many years. She puts lots
of muscle in her progeny. 3 sons have averaged a 15.1” ribeye, 6 daughters a 12.0”
ribeye (breed average is 12.41” for bulls and 9.67” for heifers). One of her greatest

feats may be her daughters. Three daughters have earned Pathfinder honors! This
is incredible for a cow that has never been flushed!
Two daughters of 9183 (and full sisters to E371) have been donors at Hoover
Angus. Space is way too short to list all of their accomplishments here, but one of
the daughters, C164, produced a $33,500 daughter and a $6000 son in our 2011
auction. This top-selling daughter has been flushed very successfully by owner
Kevin Sweeney, who brags on this female. He loves her for her superb disposition,
great phenotype, and excellent progeny. C164’s sons, two features, sell as lots
22, 23, and 24 in this year’s sale. Look them up – lot 22 is one of the best bulls
ever raised at Hoover Angus! Read more about Kevin Sweeney’s heifer in lot 22’s
footnote. C164’s four frozen embryos topped the 2012 National Western Foundation
Female Sale embryo division at $9200 to KDS Angus.
E371’s other full sister has had four progeny come to auction averaging $10,750!
Enough said!
K193 offers the 2
nd
highest $B value among all the females selling today!
K193 scanned one of the biggest ribeyes of the heifers selling today (3.7” above
breed average)! Put that with a very well balanced set of EPDs, a great phenotype,
and a cow family that has proven extremely profitable, and you have the potential
for a highly productive cow, one that will return way more dollars in your pocket than
what she will cost on February 5, 2013.
