Undeniably looks like a full brother to Hoover Dam, and he is! Hoover Dam once
again leads off the 2013 ORIgen sire directory!
Talk about a hunk, here he is! He offers thickness and muscle that is extraordinary
in the Angus breed! L38 made a positive impression with many sets of visitors to the
farm this past summer. He has been a leader since he was young.
Auctioneer Dustin Carter said this guy looks like a herd bull already when he saw
L38 in early December. L38 was one of Dustin’s top picks of our entire sale offering.
This bull is the thickest topped, biggest butted bull among the 150 bulls of his crop.
He is very gentle and has a large scrotal.
L38 has the 2
nd
biggest Ribeye EPD among all bulls selling! He has the potential to
be a carcass leader like big brother Hoover Dam, with his Ribeye EPD above the top
1% of the breed. A superior set of “no holes” EPDs make him unique.
This cow family has left a legacy at Hoover Angus – let’s start with Pathfinder dam
C124. A donor now for Craigmore and Hoover, C124 still holds the 14
th
top spot in
the herd for high wean ratios on her calves! Her ultrasound ratios in the boxes above
reflect her ET calves (whereas the AAA does not incorporate a donor’s ET progeny
into her birth, weaning, and yearling ratios).
C124’s most noted progeny sold through Hoover Angus sales include Hoover Dam
and Hoover Dame. Hoover Dam still stands as the top-selling bull to ever leave
Hoover Angus, and Hoover Dame is the top-selling female we have sold.
Hoover Dam scanned a 16.1” ribeye, which was the beginning of his career as a
tremendous carcass bull. Now his Ribeye EPD of +1.07 is above the top 1% of the

breed with over 1500 progeny scanned.
Hoover Dame sold to the Hoover Dame Syndicate, progressive group of breeders
from several states. Hoover Dame has produced a total of 7 sons and daughters thus
far in her career, grossing $46,600 to average $6657! A son of Hoover Dame, Basin
Credence X951 is in the ORIgen bull line-up.
C124’s other progeny have been a feature son selling to long-time customers Roy
& Rick Reno, and another feature son and full brother to Hoover Dam, Hoover High
Dollar, selling to Justin Swindler.
C124’s only daughter to work in the Hoover herd has achieved Pathfinder status.
C124 puts muscle in her progeny, as indicated by her Ribeye EPD smashing the
top 1% of the breed.
Grandam V65 has been a very influential cow in the Hoover herd. She has two
Pathfinder daughters, 2 Pathfinder granddaughters, and one potential Pathfinder
great-granddaughter on the way in 2013.
Great grandamV047 and her 25 daughter descendants that have worked in the Hoover
herd have weaned a total of 121 non-ET progeny with an average 107 wean ratio!
With a pedigree identical to Hoover Dam, this guy is pretty unique in his conformation
and credentials. His EPDs read fit to use on heifers or cows.
