This guy is super level topped, smooth made, and has extra length like his sire. He
has a calving ease shaped head. He is correct made with good depth. Joy had him
picked as a photo feature, but time ran out picture-taking day.
★
★
We have used sire Carbon Copy on smaller framed cows that needed an increase in
size. Carbon Copy did that successfully, as well as adding his characteristic length
and thickness. Use Carbon Copy to add impeccable udders – see a picture of his
grandam’s udder on page 34.
★
★
Dam E90 has excellent fertility with a 364 day calving interval.
★
★
Daughters of E90 have been selected by Craigmore Farm in Ontario and Mike
Bredemeier, both repeat customers.
★
★
Great grandam S50 is one of the few cows in the herd to produce two Pathfinder
daughters.
★
★
9 Pathfinders are packed in this pedigree, and it’s just a matter of time until that
increases to 10 when CC&7 earns the honor. CC&7’s first chance for achieving this
goal is in the 2013 Pathfinder report, which will be released the week after our sale.

★
L209 is really extended through his front end. He is long bodied and has the shape
of a calving ease bull with a little more frame.
★
★
A full brother to L209 was selected by long-time repeat customers Ron & LuAnne
Brown in our 2012 auction for $7000! He scanned a whopping 16.3” ribeye, ratio 111.
★
★
Dam H37 has a 362 day calving interval. Two sons by Excitement averaged a 775
pound weaning weight! Calving book notes say that H37 is really calm and nice to
work with at calving time. When Landi gets tired, the typing of “calving” turns into
“cavling”!
★
★
L209 would be an excellent choice for heifers, without sacrificing growth. He has a
great set of well-balanced EPDs.

L229 is a thick guy that has length, top, rib, and butt. He’ll be a favorite of cattlemen
who like a little more “look” in their cattle. He is certainly a good choice for heifers,
and still weaned at over 700 pounds!
★
★
Dam H178 has raised two nice bull calves – her first was a high performing
Excitement son that injured a testicle prior to yearling time and had to be culled.
★
★
H178 was a high performing female, weaning at 678 lbs., WR 111, YW 980 lbs., YR
110. She had an exceptionally big ribeye of 12.5”, ratio 117! This earned her a Ribeye
EPD above the top 1% of the breed!

We often get the following question:
How many cows or heifers should a yearling bull settle
in his first breeding season?
A safe industry-accepted number of females per yearling bull
is one female per month of age of the bull. Example: if you buy
a February born bull and turn him out in June, he would be 16
months of age at the time of turn-out and should be expected
to settle 16 females. Although many bulls are capable of heavier
service, sticking with this recommendation will help ensure all
females conceive in the early part of the breeding season.
