An excellent pedigreed, good muscled bull with lots of depth and thickness. He
packs his pounds in body length rather than height. L33 will make perfect-sized
replacement daughters. He is a powerfully built bull.
★
★
From the first crop of Counselor calves, this guy has a superb set of EPDs, and
would be suited well for heifers. He offers the lowest BW EPD and highest CED
among the yearling bulls selling. Furthermore, he has the 5
th
top $Beef Value in the
yearling bull division!
★
★
Dam H105’s first son sold for $7500 to long-time repeat customer Bill Archer. H105’s
calving interval of 323 days will get even better as she is due the first day of our 2013
calving season!
★
★
Pathfinder grandam D153 is an outstanding cow that has served as a donor. Her
four progeny to come to auction have averaged over $10,000. Her most noted
accomplishment was producing the co-top selling female of our 2012 auction at
$20,000 to KDS Angus. Other progeny have sold to Trey Brix, Ken Henggeler, and the
Hoover Dame Syndicate. D153 is highly regarded, and certainly one of our top cows.
★
★
After stealing flushes in two separate years, D153 still maintains a superb 357 day
calving interval. She is a very thick made cow with natural fleshing ability and a very
good udder.
★
★
A full sister to D153 produced lots 22-24. Read more about this cow family in lot
22’s footnote.

★
★
L129 is a long bodied, really extended bull that is correct made and good footed. He
was the 3
rd
top weaning weight ET bull calf of our crop! A flush brother sells as lot 21.
★
★
See the picture of his dam, H6, on page 11. H6 was the top-selling female of our
2011 auction, selling to repeat customer KDS Angus for $33,500. H6 was the #1
adjusted weaning weight female and #2 adjusted yearling weight female of her crop!
When we sold H6, we retained one flush from her, and that is how flush brothers
lots 20-21 came to be.
★
★
Kevin Sweeney (of KDS Angus) always brags about H6, so I asked him to write
a couple sentences about her for our catalog. I got a few more than a couple
sentences! Here is what Kevin reports, with the help of his wife Deb:
Not only was
Kevin happy to write your requested statement, he could not find a good place to
stop. After buying H6 at the 2011 Hoover sale, she had her first calf at night totally
unassisted on February 15,2011 – a 71# heifer calf sired by Connealy Reward. That
calf weighed 790 lbs. at the end of November 2011.
★
★
H6 was flushed to Reward in the spring of 2011 producing 10 Grade 1 embryos. H6
settled AI seven days after the flush. Her next calf by Reward was born February 25,
2012 – a 70# heifer calf totally unassisted.This calf weighed 770# on November 12,2012.
★
★
H6 was flushed on May 31, 2012 producing 12 grade 1 embryos sired by Mogck
Bullseye. All 12 recipient cows settled with these embryos. H6 was settled AI on
June 6, 2012 to Bullseye and will be due on March 16, 2013.
★
★
H6’s first daughter born in 2011 settled on her first AI service and she is due on
March 4, 2013 to Bullseye.
★
★
I thought enough of H6 to a buy a package of 4 embryos at the NWSS in Denver in
2012 that will be full sibs to H6. I am hoping to get at least 1 full sister to H6.
★
★
My conclusion is that fertility seems to be very strong in this cow family.H6 continues
to be a thick, easy keeping cow with an excellent disposition and excellent milking
ability. I cannot sing my praises of this cow enough. I consider February 1, 2011 –
the day I crossed paths with this cow – to be a very historic day in my life.
★
★
Please read more about Pathfinder grandam C164 in the footnote of lot 22. She will
be one of the herd’s all-time great cows. Lot 20-21’s dam is a full sister to lot 22.
★
★
7 Pathfinders are found in this pedigree. Turn these two flush brothers (lots 20-21)
out with a group of heifers and have a uniform set of calves!
