Here is an Angus bull with some muscle! He is wide based, and has a foot on all
4 corners. He’s deep, square, big hipped, long, and big topped. You’ll like him! We
recommend him for use on cows.
Dam’s first calf was a high performing Excitement son weaning at 761 pounds that
we lost prior to yearling time.
H260 had outstanding individual performance: BW 65 lbs., WW 712 lbs., WR 117,
YW 966 lbs., YR 109, IMF 5.55, ratio 118, ribeye 11.6”, ratio 108.
Read about Pathfinder grandam F284 and Pathfinder great grandam D273 in the
footnote of 59.

L90 got his ears frozen off pretty good as a youngster, but the only thing that will
hurt is his price on sale day! He is long bodied, tight sheathed, nice footed, and a
high libido bull.
Dam F284 has earned Pathfinder status with excellent progeny ratios and a calving
interval of 356 days. F284’s first daughter has been retained in the herd and records
2-104 WR. Her next daughter was selected by Troy King. Troy sent me a picture of
this heifer’s first calf by Hoover Dam, and he looked darn good!
Grandam D273 produced a feature son selling to Jeff Swartz.
Great grandam B48 has produced two featured sons coming to auction and two
Pathfinder daughters.
L90 is the only animal in the auction I know of that is backed by 5 generations of
consecutive Pathfinder dams. This is an extremely rare feat! Only the elite cows of
the breed receive Pathfinder designation – about ½ of 1% of Angus dams earn the
honor in any given year.
9 Pathfinders are racked up in L90’s three generation pedigree!

L171 is a long bodied, long fronted bull that is correct made. He offers a little more
bone and scrotal, typical of the Headliner sons.
Dam H39 is a nice made cow – she is the Friction X Famous combination that has
worked so well. Her first son was a high marbling CC&7 son that had to be pulled
from our sale after a shoulder injury. H39 has a 363 day calving interval.
Grandam C283 is a beautiful uddered, stout made cow who has produced progeny
for Larry Keller, Jim Shaw, J&R Angus, and Brad Binning.
Pathfinder great grandam Z42 is still going strong at nearly 12 years of age!
There is tremendous longevity in this cow family, as 4
th
generation dam H69 recorded
15-108 WR at the end of her career!
L171 has the 3
rd
highest Scrotal EPD of the yearling bulls selling! We recommend
him for use on cows.

$Beef ($B) Index
$B is a multi-trait selection index used to improve feedlot
and carcass value – it can be thought of as a “terminal”
index. This index has become touted as an indication of
overall quality for Angus cattle. But is it? $B does not take
into account traits such as temperament, udder quality,
fertility, longevity and structural soundness – things very
critical to cow-calf producers’ profitability. Remember
to use $B to select for the most profitable cattle in the
feedlot and on the grid, NOT as an indicator of total profit.
It’s an easy mistake to allow the $B index to be the main
sorting device for high quality cattle.
