A long bodied bull that is good fronted and has some body to him. He is an outcross
pedigree for our repeat customers.
★
★
Dam’s most notable accomplishment was producing a featured son in our 2012
auction selling to ADD Angus Farm for $8250. At sale time, he had become one
of the best Excitement sons, and he continued to improve. Doug Reuber of ADD
Angus Farm reports, “Electrify did an excellent job breeding. We also got along very
well with his semen that Hawkeye processed. He is really easy keeping. We like him
even better now than when we bought him.” The first Electrify calf at Hoover Angus
is due in early January.

★
A featured daughter of D241 sold to C Bar D Cattle Co. in 2011. D241 also produced
a daughter for Kylie Pendleton.
★
★
D241 has tremendous performance data: BW 62 lbs., WW 681 lbs., WR 106, YW
1129 lbs., YR 119, IMF 6.07, ratio 119, ribeye 13.8”, ratio 113.
★
★
Grandam A28 was the 10
th
heaviest weaning weight heifer calf of her crop and
scanned a whopping 15.3” ribeye!
★
★
A full sister toA28 is the damof lot 9.This cow has been a tremendous herd bull producer,
with 7 sons averaging $5325! Take a minute to read about her in lot 9’s footnote!
★
★
Great grandam J353 raised 3 of the top 10 weaning weight heifer calves of their
respective crops, including a full sister to A28 weaning at 825 lbs. to be the #1 WW
heifer in 2003 (when J353 was 13 years old)!
★
★
L255 has the 5
th
highest WW EPD in the yearling bull division! His EPDs read right
for calving ease, and he comes from a highly successful cow family. Use on cows.

A 7/8 brother to Hoover Dam, this guy has a tremendous pedigree. Better yet, he is
emerging as one of the best yearling bulls! He is long made, extended, and has the
frame and growth commercial cattlemen will appreciate. He has enough guts to go
along with his frame. He has caught my eye several times while helping feed bulls.
His gentle disposition is an added bonus.
★
★
On the Advantage Cattle message board, a question was posted asking women
what their top two criteria are in selecting a herdsire. Docility was the overwhelmingly
most popular answer.
★
★
Dam C345 is a typical Gridiron daughter – really deep sided, super thick, and nice
uddered. Her fertility is excellent with a 362 day calving interval. Two daughters
already work in the herd.
★
★
It’s worth your time to read more about tremendous grandam Z9 in the footnote of lot 9.
★
★
L96 may be the sleeper of the sale – lots of cattlemen will put him high on their list
sale day! We recommend him for use on cows.

L13 is a big framed bull that has super length. He will sire the type of cattle that have
the ability to add pounds fast and put $ in the cow man’s pocket. Weaning over 800
pounds, he is his dam’s heaviest weaning weight calf to date, and raised when she
was 10 years old!
★
★
Dam A23 has been a January calver for the past 7 years, and maintains a 359 day
calving interval. She is a beautiful uddered female, even at 10 years of age!
★
★
A23’s first son was a photo feature selling to repeat customer Art McGuire. Her
next son was the 3
rd
top-selling bull the year we sold Hoover Dam! Mark and Alex
Brookhouser sent good reports on this bull.
★
★
A daughter of A23 retained in the herd was the 5
th
top weaning weight heifer and #1
adjusted YW heifer of her crop. This gal is a tank!
★
★
A23 is a true low birth weight cow, and a perfect match for Triple Stack. L13 would
be best suited for cows, but could be used on large framed heifers if necessary
while he is young.
★
★
Grandam Z156 produced until 19 years of age and was David’s favorite cow. She
was a tiny cow that always weaned a huge percentage of her body weight. She
ended her career with 14-95 BWR, 14-107 WR, and a 360 day calving interval (her
first progeny were not recorded in Doc Shinkle’s herd). Two daughters have achieved
Pathfinder status.

In the Dam’s and Grandam’s Production boxes provided on each
animal:
• BWR: Dam’s average Birth Weight Ratios on her calves
• WWR: Dam’s average Wean Weight Ratios on her calves
• YWR: Dam’s average Yearling Weight Ratios on her calves
• Sons & Daughters @ Auction: The number of sons or daughters sold
at auction, and their average selling price.
• Daughters in herd: Dam’s numbers of daughters working in the Hoover
herd and the average wean ratio on their calves. Ex: 2-102 means
two daughters have an average 102 wean ratio on their progeny. The
first number indicates the number of daughters, not the number of
progeny produced by the daughters.
• Grandam’s production is not listed if grandam is no longer in the herd.
