FALL BRED HEIFERS
★
★
AI to Basin Excitement on 11-17-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit
from 12-1-12 on. Projected EPDs are for a Direct Deposit calf.
★
★
K419 is a super long bodied female, like her mother.
★
★
If you are looking for CC&7 daughters to build your herd, take advantage of the ones
in this sale, as this will be one of our last big selections of CC&7 females.
★
★
The scanning technician missed the ribeye and rib fat measurements on K419, and
that may help make her a bargain on sale day, and make her easier to pay off!
★
★
Pathfinder dam 9208 is still going strong at 13 years of age. Her first son was used
as a herd sire for us. Other progeny have been selected by Ben & Dale Adamson,
Dale Betts, Roger Vest, Mona Melton, Blaine Behnken, Shiloh Gennaro, and Sharon
Husz. 9208’s daughter that works in the herd was the 9
th
high weaning weight heifer
calf of her crop at 743 lbs., WR 115.
★
★
9208 has always been a cow to bring in one of the heaviest, best calves of the crop,
and her daughter by CC&7 should be exactly the same way. K419’s first calf by
Direct Deposit has the potential to pay for momma cow in one year!

AI to Hoover Dam on 11-23-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit 12-6-12
on. Ultrasound safe to Hoover Dam, due approximately September 1, 2013.
★
★
The Triple Stack calves were some of the nicest of the 2011 crop, and K466 is no
exception! She is nice heifer with extra length and bone.
★
★
Dam F493 is the 5
th
high $W Hoover-owned female in a herd where 38 Hoover-
owned females rank in or above the top 1% of the breed! $W is an important index for
cattlemen that sell their calves by the pound at weaning time. High $W values indicate
high profit potential at weaning time. F493 has an excellent 359 day calving interval.
★
★
F493’s first son was the #1 Docility EPD non-parent bull of the breed when he was
slated to sell in our 2011 auction. He sustained a leg injury and had to be culled. He
was one of the highest performing, best bulls in the pen, but 18 month-old bulls can
sometimes be rough on one another! F493’s next son was purchased sight-unseen
by repeat customer Mark Grossman, and Mark reports that he is very pleased.
★
★
A full sister to F493 works in the herd.
★
★
Both grandam and great grandam have been excellent cows that have achieved
Pathfinder status. T284 ended her career with 11-103 WR and a 362 day calving
interval!
★
★
6 Pathfinders are found in this pedigree, and it looks like dam F493 has the
qualifications to make the 2013 report!

K464 was the #2 adjusted weaning weight heifer of her crop at 785 pounds! The
Journey cattle are certainly known for pushing the scales down, and this gal is no
exception. She is deep ribbed just like her mother.
★
★
Pathfinder damA608 is still going strong at 12 years of age, and maintains a 364 day
calving interval on 8 progeny! What a cow! Progeny of A608 work in Nebraska, Iowa,
Wisconsin, Missouri and North Dakota. Four of A608’s progeny have been among
the top 5 adjusted weaning weight calves of their crop.
★
★
One of A608’s daughters was selected by the keen eye of Kevin Sweeney. She was
a gorgeous Gridiron daughter, and Kevin reports he really likes her and her first calf.
Other progeny of A608 have been selected by Kevin Gunderson, Fallon & Fallon, Ed
Claycomb, Tom DeYoung, and Jallo Angus Ranch.
★

K464 has the 3
rd
highest $W among the fall heifers selling.
