FALL BRED HEIFERS
Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit 11-12-12 on. Observed 11-24-12.
Ultrasound safe to Direct Deposit, due approximately September 2, 2013.
A CC&7 female out of one of our top fall calving cows! This girl gets high marks in
my book. She is moderate framed, deep bodied, thick, and has good eye appeal.
Pathfinder dam D406 can always be counted on for a good calf. For proof, check out
her sons at auction – two have been photo features, and three sons have averaged
$5850! Two of these bulls were among the top 10 weaning weight bulls of their
crop. Sons sold to Dennis Faust, Rick Ellsworth, and John VanPolen. Dennis always
comes to the farm prior to the sale to see the dams of bulls on his “top pick list”. He
is very particular about udder quality, and rightly so!
D406 maintains a 366 day calving interval. 2012 calving book record notes say that
Joy watched her calf being born from the road, as she calved near the roadside
fence. D406 had the calf effortlessly standing up!
Grandam A534 is a beautiful uddered female still going strong at 10 years of age.
Her biggest accomplishment has been raising an $8500 featured bull in our 2012
auction selling to repeat customers Wayne & Brian Reinhart. This bull was the 8
th
top
weaning weight bull of the crop.
K452 ties as the 2
nd
high Docility EPD female to sell!

AI to Connealy Counselor on 11-16-12. Pasture exposed to Connealy Direct Deposit
12-1-12 on. Ultrasound safe to Counselor, due approximately August 25, 2013.
If you are looking to start a herd with several CC&7 daughters, here and now is the
time to do it! Females like this one backed by excellent cow families will make a great
foundation to build a herd.
K479 scanned the 3
rd
highest IMF of the fall heifers selling!
Dam 9231 has been a top producer. Three of her sons have been among the top
5 weaning weight bull calves of their crop, including one that was #1. This bull was
a photo feature selling to repeat customer Ed Claycomb. Another son was the #1
scanning IMF bull of his crop, selling to Cort Jaeschke.
Although contrary to popular belief, I have found that females like K479 ratioing
below 90 at weaning time often make the best cows. Case in point: look at the lot
107 bull, one of the featured Hoover Dam sons selling. I remember the day when
we stood in the lot evaluating heifer calves, and decided NOT to cull his dam A542,
despite her weaning ratio of 79.That decision turned out to be a darn good one.The
A542 cow has earned Pathfinder status, records 6-110 WR, and has one Pathfinder
daughter working in the Hoover herd.A542 is one of the top indexing cows of the fall
herd! I could find many more examples just like this one.
