OPEN HEIFERS
A rare opportunity to purchase a full sister to the breed’s 10
th
top bull for
registrations – Hoover Dam! Selling full interest and full possession!
Raised by a 12 year-old registered Angus recipient, L40 showed potential as a young
calf, but really started to shine after weaning. She has now become one of the most
impressive heifers in the crop!
When considering L40’s growth, Scrotal, Docility, and Ribeye EPDs at her level
of accuracy, there is no female in the Angus breed that can match her EPDs!
L40 is one of only four CC&7 daughters nation-wide to have a +1.00 Ribeye
EPD or higher with her accuracy level!
Three of these four CC&7 daughters were
bred at Hoover Angus.
This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase one of the few full sisters to
Hoover Dam raised in Ellston, Iowa, the home of Hoover Dam’s cow family!

L40 is a feminine, deep ribbed, square hipped, showy, thick made, easy moving
heifer. When auctioneer Dustin Carter saw this heifer, he said, “She’s better than
Hoover Dame!”
This cow family has left a legacy at Hoover Angus – let’s start with Pathfinder dam
C124. A donor now for Craigmore and Hoover, C124 still holds the 14
th
top spot in
the herd for high wean ratios on her calves! Her ultrasound ratios in the boxes above
reflect her ET calves (whereas the AAA does not incorporate a donor’s ET progeny
into birth, weaning, and yearling ratios).
C124’s most noted progeny sold through Hoover Angus sales include Hoover Dam
and Hoover Dame. Hoover Dam still stands as the top-selling bull to ever leave
Hoover Angus, and Hoover Dame is the top-selling female we have sold.
Hoover Dam scanned a 16.1” ribeye, which was the beginning of his career as a
tremendous carcass bull. His Ribeye EPD of +1.07 now is above the top 1% of the
breed with over 1500 progeny scanned and kill data in several groups.
The $50,000 Hoover Dame sold to the Hoover Dame Syndicate, progressive group
of breeders from several states. To date, Hoover Dame has grossed over $46,000 in
progeny sales, averaging over $6650 on 7 progeny. A son of Hoover Dame, Basin
Credence X951, is now a member of the ORIgen sire line-up. X951 was the $10,000
second high-selling bull in the 2012 Montana Performance Coop Bull Sale.
C124’s other progeny have been a feature son selling to long-time customers Roy
& Rick Reno, and another feature son and full brother to Hoover Dam, Hoover High
Dollar, selling to Justin Swindler.
C124’s only daughter to work in the Hoover herd has achieved Pathfinder status.
C124 puts muscle in her progeny, as indicated by her Ribeye EPD smashing the
top 1% of the breed.
Grandam V65 has been a very influential cow in the Hoover herd. She has two
Pathfinder daughters, 2 Pathfinder granddaughters, and one potential Pathfinder
great-granddaughter on the way in 2013.
Great grandam V047 and her 25 daughter descendants that have worked in the
Hoover herd have weaned a total of 121 non-ET progeny with an average 107 wean
ratio! Yep, I thought this was too amazing to be true, so I double-checked all my
math, and it was correct!
Two brothers to L40 sell as lots 32 and 33, the 2
nd
and 4
th
top weaning weight ET bull
calves of the crop. Full brother lot 34 is the thickest bull of the crop!
L40 is the #1 high Marbling, Ribeye, and $Beef open heifer selling!
