Lot 34 - Haugen Cattle Company, Hannaford, ND
Lynn Haugen- (H): 701-769-2666 (C): 701-789-1444
Consignment:
25-30 Commercial Purebred Angus Open Heifers
Haugen Cattle Company has consigned some of the top selling bred heifers in the last two Angus Partners
sales and this year are not only bringing another top set of bred heifers, but have cut into their replacement pen
to offer 25-30 purebred Angus open heifers. These February and March born heifers will be big bodied, thick
made, and really push the scale down. They are sired by Mc Cumber 4X13 Extra 975, who was the top selling
bull of the Mc Cumber 2010 bull sale, and has been the service sire to the bred heifers that Lynn has consigned
in the past. They are also out of two 004 flush brothers from Mc Cumber, whose dam is a top Pathfinder dam in
the herd. In addition to this, some are AI sired by Sitz Upward, Conneally Consensus 7229, and Final Answer.
Some of these heifers would be eligible for registration. The Haugen’s cowherd is influenced by some of the top
bulls in the breed, which include Right Time, VRD, and Final Answer to name a few. They purchase top end
bulls and have built one of the top cow herds in the Region. They have been on a complete vaccination program
from birth, and were poured with Dectomax. They will be Bangs vaccinated, and PG’ed open. The heifers are
slick hided, and had no implants. Not often is there an opportunity to buy females with such proven genetics
behind them.
Lot 35 - Blahna Ranch, Kensal, ND -
Jim and Jeremiah 701-435-2976
Consignment:
75 Open Angus Heifers
The Blahna Ranch consignment consists of a top cut of their heifer calf crop. These heifers are born in April
and May and are on a complete vaccination program. They are sired by three sons of the top female sire at
Spicklers- R&S Expedition, as well as a King son out of the old Elite 035E donor dam by EXT who produced
until age 17. The other sires are high maternal sons of Hunts Calculator, Elevate, Rock, Rainmaker, Game
Day and S Mingus. This is the top end of over 300 heifers. Last winter as part of a cowherd expansion Blahna
Ranch purchased heifers from Gibbon, Anderson, Erble, Knudson, and Bachmeier. They have been on the Pfizer
program with spring and fall shots. This set of heifers is bred and managed to be hard working, heavy milking,
and fertile cows with extra longevity.
Lot 36 - Crider Ranch, Donnybrook ND -
Mike Crider Family (H): 701-482-7762 (C): 701-835-2240
Consignment:
15-20 Open Angus Heifers
The Crider consignment features straight black open Angus heifers with multiple generations of top sires, and
cows behind them. Although not as large a group as normal for the Crider’s the quality of these heifers will be
top end and right from the top of their replacements. These heifers are the mates to one of the top selling sets
of steers on the Northern Video Auction every year. The heifers are mainly sired by two outstanding sons of
Missing Link from Mc Cumber. Both bulls were at the top of their respective calf crops for weaning as well as
produced from dams that have been near the top of the Mc Cumber herd for productivity. The Crider’s purchase
top end bulls and have built an outstanding cowherd noted for fleshing ease, fertility, and productivity. The
Crider’s cowherd is also responsible for producing reputation feeder calves year in and year out. These Bangs
vaccinated, PG’ed open heifer calves are on a complete vaccination program. They are Angus Source tagged
and have had Bovi-Shield Gold, One Shot Ultrabac7 w/Somubac at both branding and weaning, and were
poured with Ivermectin. They have been on a high roughage ration since weaning and I would expect them to
develop into outstanding cows. They are the deep bodied, broody type.
