them in the production of seed stock that
will benefit the beef industry.
Our strength is also based on the many
diverse environments that our respective ranches
operate in. It gives us a fairer evaluation of their
environmental adaptation. Testimonials from our
customers are proof that they will work for commercial
cattlemen under many differing climatic conditions as our customer base stretches from the high
desserts of Nevada to the marshes of Florida, from the harsher Nebraska climate to scorching
Texas climate, plus a host of foreign countries. The growth of the Brangus breed depends on
the ability of these cattle to thrive and survive under adverse climatic extremes other than their
distinct advantages in the southern and coastal states. I have said it many times before, and I still
whole heartedly believe, that Brangus influenced cattle will tolerate the cold of the north better
than English and continental cattle can tolerate the heat and humidity of the south.
Beef producers nationwide should step back and evaluate the devastation that PEDv has
had on the pork industry and how much greater importance we should place on bio-security in
our own industry. We acknowledge the investment and lifelong commitment you have made to
this industry. It is with our knowledge and understanding of that dedication that we have made
the decision that all sale bulls be tested negative for bovine leukosis, Johne’s disease, persistently-
infected bovine viral diarrhea (PI-BVD) , and are tested negative for trichomonas prior to being
sold through our sales. This coupled with stringent health and vaccination protocols is our way of
telling you we value you as a customer and value your investment.
GENETRUST is a team effort from our ranch personnel, secretaries, owners,
management and sales force. We are committed to the survivability and sustainability of the beef
cattle industry. We are the largest provider of Brangus and Ultrablack seed stock in the industry.
Eight of the top ten most used sires in the breed are included in our herd sire battery. However,
we are not content to ever be satisfied with the status quo but are continually assessing feedback
from our customers, scientific input from academia, and just good old stockmanship with a
common sense approach. We are doing this to drive us and our customers to a higher level of
success and the capability to attain values that set us apart from our competition.
