This is the other Windsong sister - this one by the popular Norseman King. Again , she would not
be selling but Merrilyn has had enough of lugging feed through the cold and snow while I sit in my
warm office and has exercised her option to severely cut back our herd. The very first and very best Red Angus cow
we have ever owned was BJR Windsong 2269 – until we got daughters and granddaughters of her. I could write a
few pages about her progeny – we finally sold her a few years ago for $ 14,000 to Mark Moxley at Majestic Meadows
where she has continued to produce outstanding progeny and embryos and still making money. Look her up on
Majestic’s website !
This cow is awesome – there is no other word to describe her. Feminine, productive and powerful. If you want a cow
in your pasture that visitors will look at and you can be proud to call yours – Joy is that cow. A maternal sisters by
Mulberry was Grand Champion Bred and Owned Female and Reserve Senior Champion in the Owned Division at
the NAJRA show in Hutchinson, Kansas last June while another was Reserve Senior Champion Bred and Owned.
This five-year-old is in her prime with a great udder, feet and legs. Her EPDs are fantastic with a spread of .2 to 93, a
Marbling EPD of +.42 and a Ribeye EPD of .58 (top 2%). We sold her last year’s heifer calf as a show heifer. Her
Fall 2012 heifer calf will be on display with her on sale day but will not sell – we are keeping her.
Bred to HSCC College Fund – our great new herd sire (#1420698) from 12/5/12 to 2/16/13. “Fox” is a dark red meat
wagon performance sire whose grandsire is Red Six Mile Terminator. He has a BW EPD of 2.3, WW of 62,YW of 92
and carcass EPDs of MARB .34 and RE of .14. He was Reserve Champion Bull at the NAJRA show in Hutchinson
last June and was Junior Champion at Reno in November. This calf could be great !
