Harmony Hills Red Angus / Larry & Merrilyn Ellison
Fair Grove, MO / H: 417-759-9125 / C: 417-838-8772 /
One of two maternal sisters in this sale that it really hurts to part with – but Merrilyn has had
enough of lugging feed through the cold and snow while I sit in my warm office and has
exercised her option to severely cut back our herd. The very first and very best Red Angus cow
we have ever owned was BJR Windsong 2269 – until we got daughters and granddaughters of
her. I could write a few pages about her progeny – we finally sold her a few years ago for
$14,000 to Mark Moxley at Majestic Meadows where she has continued to produce outstanding
progeny and embryos and is still making money. Look her up on Majestic’s website!
We have three of these Mulberry flush sisters and no one can say which one is the best – this
one may well be. We have not flushed this one but were planning to flush her this spring. One of
her flush sisters was Grand Champion Bred and Owned Female and Reserve Senior Champion
in the Owned Division at the NAJRA show in Hutchinson, Kansas last June while the other one
was Reserve Senior Champion Bred and Owned. The production from these Mulberry sisters
has also been phenomenal – our best two two-year-olds are daughters of these cows and they
both have outstanding calves on the ground, one has a son of Power Eye that is an eye-popper
and will be turning a lot of heads nationally when we start showing him this summer and we
have a set of Power Eye embryo calves on the ground that may have future breed leading bulls
and females among them.
And there is more – look at her balanced EPDs – a spread of .1 to 112 with positive carcass
numbers of MB .37 and RE of .21.
0269 sells open and ready to flush with a really stout bull calf at side born February 2 by
a double bred Norseman King son of our previous herd sire Feddes Norse Fire 7149
(“Jake”) sired by 5L Direct Fire.

The 22D / Mulberry cross has been at the top of the genetic pool for
the last few years - more great, high dollar bulls and females have
been produced from this cross than about any other genetic blend.
Bryan Mackenzie says that about 1/3 of the cows in his herd are 22D
daughters and two 22D daughters sold last Fall for $17,000 each. All
who have seen BJRWindsong have said she is one of the best 22D
daughters in existence. Here is your chance to invest in some real
jewels - take your pick - an own daughter of Mulberry whose flush
sisters have already set the standard or a super daughter of the beef
maker Norseman King.
