Welcome to the Ozark Red Round-Up Auction!
It is amazing how far the Red Angus breed has come in the past five years on both
a national and Missouri state level. After the beef industry’s drought reduction and sell-
off of the last 2 years, we are seeing cattlemen restock their pastures with commercial
RED cows due to heat tolerance and improved disposition, not to mention the added
maternal traits and superior marbling qualities that come with Red Angus genetics. If
you are a cattleman with aged cows or sitting on any sort of abundance of grass, be in
Springfield, Missouri with our over 250 head and have a “hey day” on buying quality
Red Angus genetics at very modest prices!
The past five years have seen dramatic changes in the agriculture world. Cattle
numbers are at their lowest levels since 1954 and buyers are demanding high quality
cattle with high efficiency being the buzz word in the industry. If you are part of this
segment of ag producer, it is time to consider and buy Red Angus cattle. The Missouri
Red Angus Association has been on a level and steady growth pattern and have
benefited from the previous organizational leaders like Denny & JoAnn Ory, the
Twymann’s, John & Jeanna Sullivan and many others that have “led the charge” to
keep Red Angus alive and thriving in Missouri. But 2013 is a new era and a new
fundamental time in Red Angus history. What used to be pasture after pasture of black
hided cattle are now enjoying the benefits of an improved Angus model – RED ANGUS!
If you appreciate cattle that flesh easier on less feed, wean a heavy calf and are docile
and easy to be around, then be in Springfield, Missouri April 20th.
The new leadership of the Missouri Red Angus Association is positively aggressive
at instilling more numbers and higher quality than we have ever seen in the history of
the breed. You will note that instead of 50 or 60 head of cattle in this year’s catalog that
we are offering over 250 head (counting calves at side of their dam)! If you want to
become a part of an evolution of great cattle and great cattle producers, I invite you to
be in Springfield, Missouri Friday evening for the ribeye sandwich meal and the
MORAA annual meeting and on Saturday for the Ozark Red Round Up Auction.
I hope you can attend this auction, but if you can’t, I will be in Springfield all day
Friday April 19th and will be glad to take your calls to discuss any of the cattle selling.
We also will be using DVAuction this year and you can “click to bid” by signing up for a
bidders number with them prior to the auction. We thank you for your interest in this
year’s auction and if there is anything I can do to help your buying experience, don’t be
afraid to call or email.
Best Regards,
Kyle Gilchrist
