We, at Cross Diamond Cattle Company, understand that
we are truly blessed by all the people that have helped us be-
come who we are. We are surrounded by a community of
friends, family, and customers who brought joy and depth
to our lives. There has been a strong framework of support
and leadership in our lives that has helped bring us to where
we are today.
That’s why we want to make opportunities to support ag
youth, give back, pay forward and continue a promising fu-
ture in agriculture. We wouldn’t be where we are without
the support of many people, so we want to pay it forward.
As always, first in our minds is thanks and praise to our
Heavenly Father for the gifts that He has given us and for
sending his Son to die for us. Additionally, we thank our
military for their personal sacrifices for our freedom.
Last spring we saw a fellow Red Angus breeder generously
supporting youth and we thought that was a great idea.
They say that imitation is sincerest form of flattery, so we
decided we would love to make this a tradition at the Cross
Diamond sale. Any young aspiring rancher from the age of
5 to 18 can come sale day and put their name in a hat to
win a commercial bred Red Angus heifer.
The heifer we’ve hand picked for this inaugural heifer
drawing has true Cross Diamond “roots.” Her mother was
purchased as a bred heifer in the Cross Diamond sale by the
longtime customer Raymond Siekman from Lincoln, Neb.,
and she “earmarked” for this program because of her gentle
disposition and solid conformation.
There is no purchase necessary to enter the drawing. The
only thing we ask is that you are between the ages of 5 and
18; be willing to provide this heifer with a good home; pro-
vide transportation to her new home and be present at the
sale for the drawing. We will draw for the heifer at the be-
ginning of the commercial heifer portion of the sale.
