This is data collected on
the balance of YCC 2014
born calves that were not
intended or kept as bulls
or replacement heifer
candidates to develop.
They were grown and
fed here on the place,
slaughtered at Cargill,
and data collected by an
independent firm. We
feel this is an accurate
test to gauge where we
are with our program
and how our genetics
are performing. Note
the consistency and
uniformity of the results,
with a 97% grading
choice and only 6%
being a YG4. Certified
ngus Beef was a 1%
acceptance rate. Realize
that this is a cross
section of cattle that are
exceeded by those that
are developed for bulls
and replacement females,
which would indicate
an upper improvement
in quality genetics and
selection to offer to our
customers to put back
in their programs. It is
our goal to offer bulls
and replacement heifers
that breed value added
performance back into
your programs.
