We’ve never advertised Bourne, but the phone has started ringing this spring when Red
Angus EPDs were published. We’ve never collected sufficient volumes of semen to sell
on Bourne, so these sons are great option to add Bourne to your program. Starting with
52C, whose grandsire tandem of Advantage & Bonfire explain his tremendous power
and shape .
It is a very short list of bulls that can get at profit from so many angles: carcass merit,
cow herd prowess, increased pay-weight & improved feed efficiency, but 88C has earned
a spot high up on that list. Not surprising, his maternal grandsire, Double Design won
the feed efficiency trials (over all breeds) in USDA’s weight trait project at Clay Center,
NE – data that was subsequently supported by our partners, Butch & Susan Schuler
through progeny testing. Cool as that is, maybe the best thing about having Double
Design as your grandad is what it can do for your cowherd – udder quality, disposition,
HPG & CEM.
