Profit-Seeker
It’s not just about finding the fastest Gainer,
it’s certainly not about selecting for the lowest feed intake,
it’s all about identifying genetics that
Gain the most Profitably.

Guided by our
“Balanced for Profit”
motto, we invested in a GrowSafe system of sufficient capacity to
allow every bull we sell to be evaluated for increased profitability through enhanced feed efficiency. It is
our hope that breed associations will soon develop the means to incorporate this data into genetic
predictions for ERTs (economically relevant traits) which will ultimately serve to make economic
selection indices more robust.
In the meantime, we will present the feed intake data in a manner which is both intuitive and relevant
for our customers. Data will be presented as ADP - Average Daily Profit. Simple in that it is a single
value index composed of two ERTs and weighted by real world economics. Relevant in that these ERTs
impact calf value during the feedlot segment of the beef supply chain.
Note: the final rotation of bulls through GrowSafe will not be completed by catalog press time, so the
ADP for some bulls will not be available in the catalog. We do expect to have this data complete for a
sale day supplement. We invite your interest in our “Profit-Seeker” approach and any questions you
may have about the bulls or their ADP value.
