The bulls were weaned on October 17th, 2015.
Due to the unpredictability of our winter weather
the bulls were not placed on a 90 day test ration.
The average test gain represents a 56 day period
from December 23, 2015 to February 18th, 2016
when yearling weights were recorded.
We do not feed our bull calves to see how much
weight can be packed on in as little time as possible.
Rather, we encourage a steady, healthy gain that
allows the animal to exhibit their ability for efficient
usage of feed while still maintaining good structure
and fertility. The bulls have been fed a post weaning
diet of wheat midds, corn silage, and ground alfalfa
to gain an average of 3 lbs. per day. They have free
choice of roughage in the form of prairie hay.
All bulls will be fertility tested prior to the sale
and are guaranteed breeders.
Actual scrotal
measurements will be presented on sale day.
Due to a back log of data at RAAA yearling
ratios were not available as of catalog printing
date.
Lots 25-34 have been designated as Potential heifer bulls. Negative EPDs indicate
potentially lighter calving weights in their offspring.
