Welcome to Bieber Fever XI.
Every year comes with it’s challenges. It is likely that
2016/2017 will be no different. We have been dealing
with falling cattle market most of 2016. On the bright
side we are seeing that well thought out genetic
programs that produce more pounds pay. If we have
been a part of your genetic progress, we are grateful
for your business. Our leading goal has always been
to provide our customers with genetics that excel in
pounds, in addition to the economically important
traits of efficient beef production. We have always
relied on performance, EPD’s, and visual appraisal
to guide our program. We study the cattle, and the
data and constantly strive for a balance that we
think makes sense. In case anyone was wondering,
we are not going to let up on bringing you cattle that
are more consistent any time soon. We put in around
500 embryos this year and are expecting to wean 240
embryo transplant calves in 2017. We weaned right
at 240 embryo transplant calves this year. Our goal
in all of this was to build a cowherd that was second
to none. We have bred over 400 heifers every year
and with about 1/3 of them being ET’s that raises the
bar on the quality. We have been trying to identify the
great cows early to make better females sooner. One
of the side benefits is a great opportunity to buy bulls
that are unequalled in quantity and quality. Our lead
off bull is a great example of how successful our ET
program had been. Very few programs give you the
opportunity to have cutting edge genetics as two year
old bulls.
Our program has had focus that is second to none.
It starts with the sires we use and how we use them
with a common thread through the years. We use
that focus in every part of our program to give you
the consistency in your cowherd. This offering again
includes more full and maternal brothers. We have
always felt good seedstock in volume brings prices to
a level every cattle producer can afford. I personally
hope you take the time to do one of a couple of things.
Come to the sale and look at the cattle, or get on our
website and take a look at our offering videos and
bid on line. If you can’t do that, call me, or any one of
our buyer representatives. We will give you our best
advice and make sure you get what you are looking
for.
I truly believe if you looking for Red Angus cattle that
will fit your program we have them. We appreciate
the opportunity for the time you have taken to look at
this offering.
