Greetings from the Horsley Fam-
ily in Oklahoma and “Welcome” to
“Cross Diamond’s 9th Annual Pro-
duction Sale”. How time flies as it
seems like just yesterday that we
were preparing for our first con-
signment to a Cross Diamond Sale. But here we are a year later and it
has been a blessed year for our operation as we have settled in for our
first full year of production at our new location.
We have had an excellent growing season for our pastures and crops;
and well, the cattle market speaks for itself with unheard of prices and
a demand that continues to grow for quality Red Angus beef and Red
Angus genetics. Because of Red Angus’s history of “ListeningTo” and
“Working With” our commercial beef industry, we have become the
“Go To” breed of choice for many commercial beef programs. The
Choice+ Grid Program is just one example of how Red Angus has and
continues to grow, and be recognized as a valued product both in the
box and in the pasture. Red Angus possesses qualities and efficiencies
that have brought it to the forefront of the beef business.
On a different note when we visited this time last year I indicated
that we were expecting another addition to the family. This past May
the Horsley clan grew with the blessing of “Brynlee Claire” to the fold.
Cal and Shannon have been busy with the new addition to their house-
hold as well as keeping day to day activities going on our cattle and
farming operation.
It has been a busy year as we continue to get settled and acclimated
to our new home and location. Even though we only moved about 100
miles north their still has been a learning curve in dealing with “Mother
Nature” and working with new cropping systems.
We are once again very honored that Kim and Scott have included us
in this year’s sale. In addition to consigning a group of commercial
open replacement heifers like we did last year, we are also consigning a
group of bulls for your consideration. These bulls are the front end of
last year’s calf crop and have been bred and developed to work in var-
ied environments.
As for our heifers they will be just like last year’s offering being ¾ Red
Angus and ¼ Red Sim-Angus. These heifers are from the heart of our
replacement pasture, calf-hood vaccinated and ready to go to work in
your program. The ¾ RA and ¼ SA are making really nice females that
are working well in our commercial herd and produce offspring that
feedlots and packers really like.
We are looking forward to December 8th , as we will have the op-
portunity to meet new friends, and visit with old ones, and share in the
genetic offering of Red Angus at Cross Diamond Cattle Co.
See you sale day,
Barry, Pam, Cal and Shannon
Horsley Red Angus,
Council Hill, Okla.
