I’d like to start by thanking each and every
one of you for your support and making this
sale such a great thing to be a part of. With-
out you, none of this would be possible.
I work for the Ford family and could not ask
for better people to be around day in and day
out. The opportunities and methods I’ve
learned here will stick with me forever. It’s fun
to be around people that appreciate good cat-
tle and are constantly looking for ways to im-
prove their ranch and everything associated with it.
I purchased my herd of purebred cows from Brandyberry
Cattle Co in the spring of 2010 after finishing college. They
are managed with Cross Diamond’s purebred cow herd. That
means the Triangle Y cows are expected to produce a calf
every year, maintain themselves and then breed back other-
wise there isn’t any room for them on the place. The past
two years have really made the cows prove themselves and
not only did they survive they thrived. Not only maintain-
ing themselves, but also producing stout functional calves.
The bulls were weaned last October, then grazed corn-
stalks and winter range until May. They received mainte-
nance levels of protein through winter and spring. The bulls
were shipped to Elwood in the spring and grazed summer
range until September. The bulls were then brought back
to the home place and placed on a high roughage ration. We
culled through the bulls in June and then again in Septem-
ber when they were sorted into sale groups.
I am very excited in the bull crop I have to offer on this
year’s sale.Through some strict selection criteria and the use
of new sires I believe they look better than ever.
I look forward to seeing you all at the cattle drive Sun-
day night and again Monday. Take care.

Welcome to the 2014 edition
of the Cross Diamond Bull Sale
from us here at Straka Red Angus.
It is easy to be excited about the
cattle industry today with beef
prices at all time highs. The abil-
ity to improve genetics on many
levels comes back to the producer
in terms of herd health, increased fertility and profitability.
We are very pleased at the offering of our bulls for the
2014 sale, our cull process was aggressive and the use of
new AI herd sires including Beckton EPIC R397 and HXC
Big Iron 0024X and our own natural service sires Straka’s
No Limit 1005 and Straka’s Flat Iron 1018 makes this an
exciting offering. We think that you will agree when you see
the heavy muscled high progeny bulls being offered.
We hope each of you has been blessed with the good pas-
ture conditions and wonderful family time that we have ex-
perienced and look forward to seeing you at sale time.
God Bless.
