TOWN CREEK FARMBULL DEVELOPMENT
Town Creek Farm bulls begin their reproductive
and physiological development following weaning.
Bulls are sorted by size to ensure fair competition
at feed bunks and are maintained in 40 to 50 acre
traps with both summer and winter grazing. Town
Creek bulls are matured on limited-intake, high
roughage, forage-based, low-energy rations com-
posed of 36 to 40 percent haylage (007 Bermuda
grass grown and ensiled on Town Creek Farm) and
40 to 45 percent wet brewers grain. Commodities,
and by-products are the balance of the haylage-
based ration. Our feed rations and intakes are
monitored by nutritionist and cattleman, Dr. N.T.
Cosby, Laddonia, Missouri.
Within 30 days of sale, Dr. Mike Pallone
performs a breeding soundness evaluation
including scrotal measurements and semen
sample collection, which scores motility and
morphology of semen. Bulls were Trichomoniasis
tested and BVD-PI tested within 30 days of sale.
Bulls are negative on both tests. Dams of the bulls
selling have tested negative for Johnes.
We raise our bulls to go out and hustle and
breed as many females as they can in pastures. We
encourage our customers to keep replacement
heifers sired by our bulls. Town Creek Farm bulls
are highly proven in fertility and maternal traits.
Cattlemen can make great genetic progress with
our bulls because of the large number of
consistent, efficient females from which to choose
your replacement heifers.
Bull dispositions and temperaments are
cultivated and managed, and rank as a priority by
Town Creek Farm. Bulls are handled and trained to
provide customers with user-friendly bulls. Our
bull handling and managing includes horseback
for gathering and treating, routine foot traffic
among bulls and some ATV activity.
How We Develop Our Bulls
and the Bull Production Partners Who Help Produce Them
THANK YOU
TOOURBULL PRODUCTIONPARTNERS
Our Bull Production Partners (BPP) are an
important part of our bull program and of
the future of Town Creek Farm. Each
partner produces Town Creek Farm
genetics on their respective ranches. The
program is a finely tuned collaboration of
genetics and management. Bull calves
accepted to the program are co-mingled
with Town Creek Farm bulls after weaning.
