Last year Suhn Cattle Company celebrated its 20

Anniversary Sale. I
myself have been involved in this great breed of cattle for the past 34 years
and this marks the 5
th
year that this sale offering has been held under the
GENETRUST marketing banner. We are grateful for the success that this
marketing alliance has achieved and the continued confidence our customer
base has shown in the product that we provide. It will continue to stay as our
primary focus to earn and build upon the trust and confidence from you, our
customer base, which has developed because of the predictable, consistent
product we offer. We do not endeavor to offer animals that maximize
production numbers for any one or a few traits, or simply breed for cattle that will read trait leading EPD numbers. Our
goal is balance and cattle that will work in real world environments for real world stockmen. The market is great but we
stand on the principles that got us here. We could capitalize by cataloging more bulls and lower our criteria for scrotal
size and individual performance but that does not benefit our customers in helping to capture and capitalize on one of
the greatest market opportunities we have ever seen in this business.
At GENETRUST we are more committed than ever that superior genetics does not cost it pays. Through the
use of the technology that we have at our disposal today, plus the prospects of genomic enhanced EPD’s in the future
coupled with the stringent culling procedures we presently have in place, GENETRUST is positioned to offer stockmen
the highest quality and most consistent genetics to be found in the breed.
The 2014 offering is unique in that it raises the bar in our quest to offer bulls that are not only consistent and
uniform in phenotype but also genotype. They reflect our ongoing belief that the consumer’s pallet is for a consistent
eating experience and for the beef industry to accomplish this we need to start at the purebred level with a product
that will breed uniformly. I am proud of the breeders who have supplied this offering, their commitment to breeding
only the best, and how the bulls have matured through a harsh winter development period. Our customer feedback
and comments as to how much better our bulls hold up compared to our competitors is always encouraging. We have
a strong, extremely deep offering of herd sire candidates along with a super set of bulls for the commercial cowman no
matter if you need one or a truck load. For the first time we are also offering an excellent set of commercial females from
our long time customer Zak O’Brien.
