The Parke children and their Salers influenced cattle had a successful
showing at the Tri-County Fair in Deer Lodge, MT. Melanie and Joseph
exhibited 3 Optimizer steers that received purple ribbons and were in the
Championship line-up. Melanie won her middle weight class with a steer
raised by the Skinner Family. Joseph showed a Parke raised Optimizer
steer who was sired by SRS Unreal 0151U that was also chosen as a class
winner and then went on to be named Reserve Champion Market Steer
out of the 40 steers in the show. Melanie, Joseph, Spencer, and Deana
all exhibited breeding cattle in the 60 head breeding show where they
were awarded purple ribbons and had 4 class winners. Melanie won
the crossbred class with her 5 year old ¾ Salers cow and then went on
to win the trophy for Grand Champion Female over all breeds. Joseph
was awarded Grand Champion male beef with his purebred Salers bull
calf and Melanie received Reserve Champion with her Optimizer bull calf
sired by SRS WDA 270W.
