Brady Farms Carcass Data
Scott Brady has been feeding all his calves for
many years. We have been fortunate that Scott has
been using SRS bulls for a number of years so it is
interesting what the cattle are doing in the feedlot.
Below is a set of fall calves. This group was half
steers and half heifers:
Entry weight: 575lbs.
Sell weight: 1428 lbs.
Days on feed: 238.3

The cattle dressed 80% choice
These cattle were sold on a grade and yield basis.
There were no yield grade 4’s and a low number of
3’s. These cattle would have brought an easy $3.00
over live market due to yield bonus weight and if you
use the average plant average of 63% plant average
then they would have yielded $6.00 over market
converted to live price that day.
He also had a set of spring calves that were sent to
the plant recently, that had a dressing percent well
over 66%.
