Exposed to CRC Landau 263X2 from 2/7/2013 to 4/20/2013.

When Whitehall plantation dispersed their herd in 1998

they sold as weaned calves an ET set of Newsmaker of

Brinks bull calves out of a Pathfinder daughter. Those bull

calves were the hit of the day and went to notable Brangus

ranches that are a “who’s who” in the Brangus breed. Full ET

brothers each went to Joe Reznicek, Bobby Steiner, Eddie

Blazak, and Heldon Ranch. MC Newsman 81H13, the sire

of these two cows, was one of those brothers, and the one

that left his mark on the Brangus breed. He is a Summit

Sire as is his sire, Newsmaker, and he has had a tremendous

genetic impact on the success of Mound Creek as well as

other programs. Sire lines that include a Newsman daughter

in their pedigree include Tank, Jethro, Abrams, Nuff Said,

Onstar, Rock Star and Elegido.

The 535 cow family originated with Glenn Brinkman and

his “new genetics” program in the mid 1980’s. The roots of

the 535 cow family start with a half blood cow who was a

daughter of a widely popular Angus sire, Canadian

Colossal, a herd sire from Ankony Angus. This 535 cow

family has had a monumental impact on the Brangus

breed. Cadence of Brinks and his sons and grandsons are

themselves a “who’s who” in the Brangus breed including

Lead Gun, Csonka, Singletary, Patton, LTD, and Lambert

all have a 535 dam in their pedigree.

535R3 and 535R represent some of the best genetics in the

Brangus breed, and their consistency and fertility are well

represented in some of the progeny that have been sold

already in their young careers. Chimney Rock chose a 535R3

daughter out of LTD as their $15,000 pick of the entire calf

crop at Schmidt Farms. Mike Burke has a 535R3 ET daughter

he paid $7500 for out of Blanda as an open heifer. That is

not to mention that 535R3 herself brought $30,000 at the

2010 Genetrust at Chimney Rock sale. Schmidt Farms is

currently flushing five 535R3 daughters out of Next

Step, BT and LTD in their impressive donor battery. This

is a testament to her ability to work to different sires and

her ability to produce superior progeny. 535R has had

daughters sell for $12,500 and $9,000 as heifers, her first

bull calf offered brought $8,500 as a yearling. Ten embryos

out of 535R recently rang the bell in Houston at the Ideal

Video sale bringing $10,500. At 7 years of age both these

cows are still in their prime. 535R3 is averaging 16 embryos

per flush and 535R ,12 embryos per flush. Rarely does

the opportunity come around that any breeder has the

opportunity to

purchase donor cows of this quality and proven

productivity, let alone full sisters out of the same flush.

Both cows will sell as short bred or open and either way

should be prime candidates for an invitro fertilization

program that could put embryo’s in recepients for spring of

2013 offspring. They represent an outcross pedigree to the

majority of sires available and sires are continually being

produced that will work exceptionally well with them. These

two proven donors are female producing factories and

owning these cows are an opportunity of a lifetime for new

as well as established breeders, don’t miss out.
