Weston will travel among Jr. members
to see what questions they have or skills
they’d like advice for. The Jr. Board
of Directors agreed that Weston is the
perfect selection for a clinic format with
his enthusiasm and knowledge. The
workshop is open to all Junior members.
Carol Falk Donates
Ewe Lamb for Raffle
Carol Falk, from Waupaca, WI, has
generously donated a ewe lamb to be
raffled off to benefit the Jr. Association.
This is the lamb that stands out in the
barn, and Carol said she planned to
enter the ewe lamb in the national sale
had she not donated it. The lamb is out
of a homegrown ewe from a highly
productive ewe family and a Geerts
sire. The ewe family has a nearly 200%
lambing record. Tickets will be $1 each
or six tickets for $5. Watch the mail for
more information and tickets. Thanks
to Carol for all of her support over the
years and for offering her ewe lamb this
year!
Ambassador Candidate
My name is Jessica Taylor and I’m
from Arlington, WI. I would like to be
the Ambassador because it would give
the chance to promote the breed I love!
I have been showing Columbias since
2006 when I got my first ewe lamb
from Doug and Lindy Peterson at the
Midwest Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia,
MO. Since then my flock has grown to
10 ewes of my own plus the 10 ewes
that I am taking care of for my Grandpa
Neil. I want to be able to show people
that Columbias are a great breed. I
love this breed and want to share that
with as many other people as I can so
that we can possibly grow our national
membership to a higher number!
I will promote the breed the same
as I promote everything I do! I am an
ambassador for the 4-H program in
Columbia County. I also do a lot to help
promote FFA throughout the state. I
love everything that I do and promote it
to the best of my ability. I put 110% of
everything I have into making sure that
people know the information that they
need to about 4-H, FFA and Agriculture!
And I will do the exact same thing if I
am chosen to be your Ambassador!
Two Donations From
Banner Sheep Magazine
The Banner has once again donated
a ½ page, full color ad (a $450 value)
to be auctioned off to benefit the Jr.
Association. In addition to the ½ page
ad, they have also donate a breeder’s
directory listing (a $65 value). This
includes a year’s subscription to the
magazine. Don’t miss the chance to
spread the word about your farm and
support the Juniors at the same time!
We continue to appreciate the Banner’s
generous support!
