New Event!
Fiber Arts Competition
New this year will be a Fiber Arts
Competition. The competition will be open
to both adults and juniors. There are two
classes for each adults and juniors. However,
if there are several entries, the classes will be
split into more classes. Awards will be given.
The intent of the Columbia Sheep Fiber
Arts contest is to promote the wool of the
Columbia Sheep breed.
Divisions:
1. Junior - Age 21 and younger.
2. Adult - Over age 21
Fiber Arts Classes:
1. Woven, Knit or Crochet
2. Felt – Wet or Needle
Rules:
1. All Entries must be made of wool. In class
2 for both Junior and Adult, the entries
must consist of 100% Columbia Wool.
2. A maximum of 1 entry per division/class
per exhibitor.
3. Each item must be accompanied by
a written description that provides
construction details. For entries in Class 1
the type of wool used should be included
in the description.
4. Judging Criteria: Items will be judged on
visual appeal, design, color, craftsmanship,
cleanliness, consistency, tension, finish,
structural durability, finishing and
creativity.
5. No entry fee.
6. Awards in each division/class.
7. Entries will be checked in on Wednesday
and will left for display and can be picked
up following the banquet.
Fiber Arts Workshops
Workshops on wet and needle felting and
rug hooking will be available for a fee ($15-
$25). Registration and payment prior to May
15 are required to reserve a spot with the

Columbia Sheep Photo Contest
A photo contest will be available again
for both juniors and adults. The photos and
the fiber entries will be on display through
the week. Winners will be announced at the
banquet.
Divisions:
1. Junior – 21 years of age and under
2. Adult – over 21 years of age
Classes:
1. Flock Scene
2. Sheep and children
3. Shearing
Rules:
1. Photos may be Black and White or Color.
2. There will be a limit of one photo in each
class per contestant.
3. Photos must me attached to matt board for
display. No frames.
4. Each entry must have the following
information on the back of the photo:
a. Name of contestant entering the
photo
b. Division and Class number
c. Age – for Juniors only
5. Photos will be checked-in on Wednesday
and will be left on display.
6. Winners will be announced at the banquet.
