Welcome to our 22nd Annual Production sale! Thank you for taking the time to evaluate our breeding program and
our philosophy of genetic improvement in Angus cattle. For over 35 years we have devoted our heart and soul to
designing a type of Angus seedstock that are very trait-balanced with the function ability to excel in all sectors of the
beef industry. We must stay focused on genetics that will keep production agriculture in business, and yet meet the
needs of tenderness and taste for our consumers.
I am extremely pleased with this year’s offering of bulls. These are the “cream of the crop” from 250 bulls that have
excelled in all areas of production and efficiency! Over half of the sale offering are recommended and can safely be
used on heifers. The entire group has been selected for a type and kind that will provide you with trouble free bulls
that will enhance profitability for many years to come!
As you review our sale book, please take advantage of all the information and data that we provide to aid in your
selections. My goal is to provide you with the knowledge and recommendations to make your bull buying process as
easy and convenient as possible. Our unique four trait scoring system for each bull is well defined, and factors in the
economically relevant traits. This allows you to have my personal input as you search the offering for the bulls that
will be most effective in your operation.
We are pleased to continue the “Targeting the Brand” system from the Certified Angus Beef staff that will make it
easier for you to identify the bulls that will sire calves that best target the CAB brand. Please refer to page 15 in the
sale catalog to read about the “Targeting the Brand” logo that identifies the bulls that meet or exceed the EPD recom-
mendations for Marbling and $Grid values from the CAB Best Practices Manual. We all want to produce pounds of
beef. However, do we want to produce a pound of lead or a pound of gold?
Please note the format (see page 15) for the auction by showing a pre-recorded video clip of each animal instead of
bringing the animal into the sale ring. The cattle will be penned and ready for viewing by 9 a.m. on sale day, and as
always, are available for viewing any time prior to the sale at the ranch headquarters. The entire sale offering will
have individual video clips that can be viewed on our website after March 1. Also note the sight unseen purchase
guarantee if you are unable to personally attend the sale.
All bulls selling in this sale have been genomically evaluated with the Zoetis HD50K test. Also many of the dams and
grand dams of the sale offering have been 50K evaluated. With this DNA evaluation we can more accurately identify
the genetic potential of youngAngus seedstock, guarantee the parentage, and give you valuable information regarding
feed intake and efficiency and tenderness.
