Here are 26 more Angus bulls that are
black. They are just registered with a
different Angus Association. Since 1997
we have been blending the best of Black
Angus and RedAngus together to get the
best of both worlds. I remember a wise
cowman telling me that RedAngus need-
ed more outcross sires and a larger ge-
netic population. That discussion helped
me realize that the Red Angus Associa-
tion actually has a larger gene pool and
effecitve population size than American
Angus because Red Angus Accepts all
of their black cousins as Red Angus that
just happen to be a darker color. So for
the past 18 years we have been infusing
the best black Angus genetics into our
red program. These bulls carry 1 black
gene & 1 red gene - therfore when they
are bred to red cows - you can expect
50% of the calves to be black and 50%
to be black. When bred to black baldy
cows you can expcect 75% to be black &
25% to be red while if you breed them to
black Angus cows - you can expect vir-
tually all of them to be black. The really
cool thing is that you can use the certified
Red Angus feeder calf tags on them re-
gardless of their color & those tags have
proven to be most valuable on Superior
Video. Plus you can get the bidders who
are looking for black calves to bid on
your calves as well. Attracting more bid-
ders is a great thing and so is the scientif-
ic approach that we have been using for
18 years to combine the best genetics of
both Angus breeds. Buy these bulls with
confidence. They are outstanding.
