The Erica cow family is one of three very powerful
cow families, Erica, Pride and Ethelda E, descending
from the original herd of Jay Marcy and sons.
Born in 1991, Marcy’s Erica 118 rose to the top
as an ET donor for Marcy Angus. Several generations
of ET donors followed in her footsteps. She produced
lighter birth weight cattle with deep-ribbed, easy-flesh-
ing, high-performance genetics. Marcys Erica 017
followed in the same footsteps and the offspring of
these females resulted in a genetic package that has
produced many top herd bulls and high quality fe-
males in our herd. The prepotency of the Erica family
has consistently resulted in highly fertile and durable
females with longevity, exceptional production and
profitability.
