Fellow Cattle Breeders:
We at Mohnen Angus would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you who helped
make 2016 a wonderful year, as we had buyers and visitors from all over the United States. We are so
grateful for the huge success you have all brought us from our repeat customers all the way to the new
customers. Whether it was someone who purchased animals here or have called or stopped in to visit
or tour the herd from all over the world, it is an honor for us to help you all in any way possible to im-
prove your own herd as is our own. Again thank you from all of us.
This is a family operation that each and every one on the ranch give their dedication to what we all
love to do, raising Angus cattle. We are talking and thinking Angus every day whether it’s at the dinner
table, outside, or at night on our phones. It’s what’s in our blood and what we love to do. As, Josh went
to Indianapolis this year again as a delegate from South Dakota, he takes great pride in to represent
our great Association. He came home with a few highlights but one that really sticks out. As he and a
few other Angus breeders were walking down the street, some random stranger standing along the
street asked them what everyone in cowboy hats were doing here all dressed up. “I said we’re here for
meetings for the American Angus Assn.” And his response was, “Oh, you guys are the meat people.”
Believe it or not, the Angus breed is famous for the great product that so many people love to eat. Each
and every one that buys, breeds and uses Angus cattle take a role in this. As that is very important to
us, when we think of Angus cattle here at Mohnen Angus, we think of that great Angus cow that weans
off a big calf and gets bred back early and make you the most money possible, then comes that great
product of meat that it is so famous for. That’s why it is important for us to raise efficient cattle that will
wean off those big, high-performing steers and good uddered, docile females that will make you money
and the person buying them.
We love raising high-performance cattle that grow and do the same for you. As we all sell cattle by
the pound, there is not a more important time than now in the cattle business to be leaving pounds on
the table. I feel this set of bulls are the most athletic set of bulls raised to date to go out and service and
make you money for now and the future.
