Cassie Schoenthal is a Ph. D. student in the Department of En-
tomology at Texas A&M University. She received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in 2010 from Texas A&M University in Entomol-
ogy and a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural & Environ-
mental Science fromTarleton State University in 2012. Currently,
Cassie is surveying insect movement in confined white-tailed
deer operations, isolating epizootic hemorrhagic disease and
bluetongue viruses in biting midge populations, and measuring
insect development requirements in an effort to improve insect
pest management recommendations for Texas deer producers.
