Welcome to our 20th Annual
Production Sale. It seems like
yesterday that we were planning our
first sale. Over the years we have
seen many changes in the industry
but one thing that has remained the
same is pounds pay when it’s time
to sell calves. Now more than ever
adding hybrid vigor to a set of calves
will add dollars to your bottom line.
With recent prices being high, an
extra 25-30 pounds will add a lot of
extra money in your pocket.
This year we have culled our bull
pen harder than we ever have. There
may not be as many but they are by
far the deepest set to date. We are
offering sons by two new herd sires,
JSC Winchester and JSC Ruger. They
have both done a tremendous job for
us. We’re sure you’ll appreciate their
sons, they are impressive!! Of course
we are selling several Linebacker
sons and we think they’ll be very
popular again.
Though small in numbers, the female
offering is pretty impressive. The
open heifer calves are all Linebacker
daughters and come right out of the
heart of the replacement pen. The
Linebacker daughters we have are
becoming some of the best cows in
our herd.
The bred female offering is also
small but extremely good. There are a
couple of them that could end up in
the donor pen. Most of them should
be calved out by sale time. We’ve
decided to leave them home with
them being so close to calving. There
will be a video featuring the bred
females located on our website, www.
schaeferchiangus.com. Be sure to
look them up!
We do have a block of rooms under
Schaefer Chiangus at the Comfort
Inn in Bismarck. Make your
reservations early; the hotel will be
releasing any rooms left in the block
on March 22. As usual we would like
to invite you to our pre-sale social
at the Comfort Inn on Friday, March
28th, 2014 at 6:30 pm. We can’t wait
to see you at the sale. If you have any
questions or would just like to talk
cattle, please feel free to call any one
of us.
Dear Cattleman and Fellow Breeders,
Sincerely,
Bryan, John, & Jerry Schaefer
