Terms & Conditions
HEALTH
– All animals will be eligible for interstate shipment unless otherwise
announced. Interstate health papers will be furnished for each animal over six months of
age. Each Animal requiring TB and Bangs tests will have been tested within 30 days of
the sale date. Such tests will have been made by a federally accredited veterinarian and
blood samples will have been processed by a state or federally accredited laboratory.
Certificates of vaccination for Bangs will be furnished for each animal that has had such
treatment.
IDENTIFICATION
– It shall be the obligation of the seller to determine that each animal
sold carries a readable tattoo or brand.
REGISTRATIONS & TRANSFERS
– All animals consigned as registered cattle sell with
proper ACA registration certificates, signed for transfer by the seller at the seller’s
expense.
BIDDING DISPUTES
– The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bidding. His decision
on such matters will be final.
TERMS
– Terms of all sales will be cash unless arrangements are made between buyer
and seller prior to the sale.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
– Alteration of any information in the sale catalog will be announced
from the auction stand and such announcements will take precedence over any printed
material.
PURCHASER’S RISK
– The animal becomes property of the purchaser as soon as sold.
BREEDING GUARANTEE
–
1. All bulls are guaranteed to be breeders. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser
to have these bulls semen checked before they are turned out with cows or before
15 months of age. If not done, Schaefer Chiangus is not responsible. If the bulls are
semen checked under these term and found to be non-breeders, exercising options for
adjustments apply.
2. All females sold under the condition “safe-in-calf” and attested to by a licensed
veterinarian, sell with no further guarantee.
3. All heifer calves are sold as guaranteed breeders. If they are unable to conceive prior to
22 months of age, the exercising options for adjustments apply.
EXERCISING OPTIONS FOR ADJUSTMENTS
.
1. The purchaser must notify the seller of his dissatisfaction with any animal in writing
within six (6) Months of the sale date.
2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the purchaser may return the
animal to the seller’s farm at purchaser’s expense, if in good condition and is accompanied
by a health certificate indicating the animal is free from infectious and contagious
diseases. The seller is then entitled to a three (3) month trial following return of the
animal at which time he will have the opportunity to determine the animal’s breeding
ability. At the end of the three (3) months, the seller is unable to prove the animal a sound
breeder, the seller shall have the option to replace the animal with another of similar
quality or to refund the purchase price.
