EPD’s makes it even more of an increased reason to
utilize EPDs instead of actual and adjusted performance
numbers in your genetic selection process.
Although we will never be able to reduce all of the risks
involved in the selection process GE-EPD’s are a positive
step forward in providing our customer with a more
reliable evaluation of the genetic capabilities of your
purchases. They more effectively reflect each animal’s
potential contribution to your herd than any other data
we can supply you with at this time.
As an industry we need to embrace the addition of GE-
EPD’s and their ability to reduce the risk involved when
making your herd sire selections. Your bull battery
and replacement female choices are not decisions to
be taken lightly as they affect the genetic makeup of
