BULL WINTERING PROGRAM
We will be offering wintering arrangements on bull calves purchased in this sale.
For $250 per head we will winter the bull calves until May 1, 2017. These bull
calves will be ultrasound scanned for carcass and are guaranteed breeders, but
because of their age they have not been semen tested yet. Bull calves left with
us for the winter will pass a complete breeding soundness evaluation including
a semen test prior to pick up. We suggest if you leave the bull calves with us to
winter you take out a mortality insurance policy which will be available sale day.
Please let the sale clerks know if you would like the insurance.

November 5th.
The families at Cottonwood have been in operation for many years and are
known for their principles of honesty, hard work, service and development of superior seedstock for purebred
and commercial cattlemen to be profitable. Our only source of income comes from cattle and raising crops.
Therefore we know how hard it can be with the ups and downs in agriculture to be profitable. Consequently we
have worked hard and continue to bring new technology, openness to new ideas, along with good common sense
to produce superior cattle with strength, quality and adaptability to thrive in the diversity of climates across the
many types of farm and ranch operations.
We offer a product to help build your success and will be here to add value to and support that success. Remember
to maximize any chance you get to tell the story of agriculture. Most consumers of our products need to know
the devotion we have to the care of our livestock, land, and determination to protect the environment for future
generations and the safety of the products we produce. Without their acceptance and confidence it will be really
hard to stay profitable.
This year at the sale we will be offering a set of cattle that has balanced EPDs with high $Values in all categories
which we believe keep cattle profitable. We have never been one to breed for the extreme high EPDs or the
lowest birth numbers. A balanced animal that is above average for our breed brings more dollars to the table
over the long haul and will keep you sustainable. Yes, breeding for the extremes in one category can be reached
much faster, but has proven to bring along unfavorable antagonisms.
These cattle are a testament to the development and improvement of our product which have strength, adaptability
and the ability to be profitable. Go through the catalog and study the pedigrees, performance data and dollar
values these cattle bring to the table. In addition, they will have the phenotype, good structure, good feet and
legs along with a quiet disposition that you are looking for.
