purchased on the front end of previous sales at Chimney
Rock. Two of the females could be pairs by sale time with
the other 5 to begin calving March 1 through mid-May.
The Jackson’s have good taste in cattle and this should be
an outstanding set that anyone can tie to.
Group 3
Leto Farms:
34 Head
Frank Johnston owner of Leto Farms, a large
commercial operation near Montgomery, Alabama has
been purchasing GENETRUST bulls for several years
and utilizing the top GENETRUST AI sires through a
rigorous AI program. Frank has been taking advantage of
the GENETRUST consultant program by working close
with us from basic herd health to genetic management
and marketing. There have been a lot of records broken
over the last year or so but a couple Frank is proud of,
two truckloads of steer mates to these heifers sold this
summer and broke all records from the facility which
handled the transactions. Also bred heifers that were
a calf crop older than this group traded for $3,500 this
spring at the GENETRUST sale at Cavender’s Neches
River Ranch sale, also record breakers. Consigned to the
GENETRUST sale at Chimney Rock are 34, 2013 fall
open heifers ready to enter your AI program or turn bulls
out for natural service. A reputation set of home raised
commercial Brangus heifers.
Group 4
Chimney Rock Cattle Co.:
5 Head
Bill has been building his Ultrablack program for
the last several years. By using some of the high accuracy
more proven bulls the Angus breed has to offer he is on
the path of producing a very strong set of both registered
and commercial female herds. This set of 5 commercial
Ultrablack heifers represents the direction Bill wants
to go. They were AI’d to TJM Coronado 535X or
Connealy Black Granite on 5/1/2014 and cleaned up with
GENETRUST bulls from 5/2/2014 until 7/1/2014. They
are all palpated safe in calf and a very uniform group.
Group 5
Draggin’ M Ranch:
60 Head
Draggin’ M Ranch is excited to offer this
tremendous set of 60 Angus and Black Baldy bred heifers.
These heifers are one ranch raised, by some good friends
of ours in Northern Louisiana so they are accustomed
to the heat and humidity of the southeast. The cowherd
base traces back to the Express Ranch in Oklahoma and
have been raised with low input costs with emphasis
on fertility and production. They were all timed AI’d to
2 of the highly proven Brangus herd sires in the breed,
SF Dependence 535U24 and Newt of Brinks 302P16
on 4/10/2014, and were cleaned up with GENETRUST
calving ease Brangus bulls from 4/20/2014-7/10/2014.
These are really front pasture cattle that will start calving
around the middle of January and should prove to be a set
of cows that their new owner can build a program around.
Group 6
Neches River Ranch:
48 Head
Home of the GENETRUST Texas bull test
station, and location for our fall bull and commercial
replacement female sale, as well as the spring registered
and commercial replacement female sales. Joe Cavender,
and manager Justin Matejka, work year round managing
and providing some of the best commercial Brangus
females in the country. Represented in the Chimney
Rock sale is 48 bred heifers due to start calving mid-
December 2014. These Brangus heifers are big boned,
deep ribbed and safe in calf 6 months as of the middle
of September to GENETRUST calving ease bulls. This
set of heifers are weighing around 1000lbs a full truck
load that will easily make a matched set or will be sorted
in pens of approximately 15 head grouped in uniform
sets of approximately 5 head for customers wanting a
small uniform group. Quality bred Brangus heifers are
extremely hard to find.
Group 7
Sanders Ranch:
42 Head
Tremendous buying opportunity here with 42
head of home raised 2 year old Ultrablack females, most
of which should be pairs by sale day. This is an extremely
fancy set of heifers backed by one of the top commercial
herds in North Central Arkansas, raised on fescue and
bermuda. Jimmy and Jason Sanders own and operate
their large commercial operation near Marshall, AR and
have allowed us to dip into the absolute front end of their
future and you will not be disappointed as these are good
enough to go anywhere. 75% of these heifers are sired
by GENETRUST bulls purchased through previous sales
at Chimney Rock. These heifers weighed 1200# prior
to calving and began calving in late August to calving
ease bulls and most should be pairs by sale day. These
cattle carry a reputation that strings far north of I-70
and for good reason. If you are looking to add to your
cowherd with the front end kind, DON’T miss this set on
November 1st.
