BO8LDE5 is definitely a safe choice for use on heifers, proven by
his EPD’s for C
E and BW
with good accuracy. H
e is also going to
sire great disposition,
also proven by his Docility EPD. Everyone can
read the numbers, but what the numbers don¶t show is their Àawless
structure,
from the ground up,
they are sound. W
e felt it was a very
good testament for the bull when we sorted through his sire group
of sons after weaning and literally kept them all for development.
N
o throw away due to soundness,
disposition,
or performance.
They were typical looking calving ease sons,
none really showing
a powerful look,
but they were all good,
all keepers. Our opinion of
the BOULDER progeny got even better when we analyz
e d them at
yearling. The sons had gotten a little stouter and the daughters were
so impressive that we retained the whole group as replacements.
A
ll of that is information not so easily gleaned from the EPD’s.
The entire group of sons looks so similar and uniform there
is no need repeating the same footnote on all,
so will
only make a few comments and it will fit almost every
one of them.

The white spot in the center of his face has made Lot 41 easy to pick out of a group all year and once you pick him out, you like what you find. He is super smooth made with some
refinedness of bone, knee joints, and shoulder, yet has plenty muscle and very good rib shape. In general, he just has a very impressive look. His dam has weaned three calves with an
average BW ratio of 102 and WW ratio of 104. His granddam has been one of our embryo donors in the past and has a reputation of producing extra growth and performance power. Lot 41
may not be a heifer bull, but he will surely be about as smooth and refined as you will find in a growth bull.

The high carcass EPD’s and Index Values are no surprise in this BOULDER son because his dam has been a no miss cow for producing extremely high carcass ultrasound scans in her
progeny, recording average progeny ratios on four calves at WW 112, YW 112, Marb 130, and REA 115. Consistent production like exhibited in Lot 42 is what took his dam to our embryo
donor pasture last year.
