15th Annual CKAA Ladies Day Sale
Pg 2
Dear Angus Breeders & Friends;
Welcome to the 15th Annual Central Kentucky Angus Association Ladies Day Sale. The 2017 edition of this sale will feature
the largest offering to date in a Ladies Day Sale. There are 3 consignors with large consignments. The animals offered in
these consignments are generally only available in dispersions. The total offering includes 20 open heifers, 16 bred heifers
and 59 cows that had 40 calves at side at catalog press time and numerous more will calve prior to sale day. If you are in
search of foundation Angus seedstock, you need to study this catalog and make plans to be present on September 9. The
sale order will be a little different in this sale because we want to sell the large groups in their entiriety when they sell, there
fore, we will begin with lots 1 thru 38.
The cattle will be available for viewing on Friday afternoon and evening at the sale barn. Come early on Saturday and enjoy
the complimentary lunch provided by Central Kentucky Angus Association and served by the Garrard County Youth Live
stock Club. We hope you will be present to help us begin the Fall sale season in Kentucky. We have both quality and variety
represented in this sale. We trust we have something that can be a good addition to your herd. Please call us if we can help
you in any way.
INSPECTION:
Cattle will be available for inspection on Friday evening & sale day. Ear tags correspond with catalog lot numbers.
PREGNANCY EXAMINATIONS:
Bred cows that have been pregnancy examined will be denoted as follows:
SAFE AI: Guaranteed bred to the AI date
SAFE AI*: Most likely bred to AI date according to vet’s examination. Calving date will be the ultimate determination of sire.
SAFE: Guaranteed pregnant. If more than one sire is involved, calving date will determine the sire.
HEALTH:
Each lot will have an individual health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian. Out of state buyers should be aware of any special requirements and/or permits
of their respective states. Cattle may be left at the sale facilities while additional tests are performed at the SELLERS expense. Cattle should be picked up within 48 hours after
the completion of the test and respective paperwork.
SETTLEMENT:
Satisfactory settlement (payment in full unless prior arrangements have been made) must be made with the clerks prior to movement of any purchases from the
sale facilities.
INSURANCE:
Insurance is available on all cattle selling. Please notify clerks at time of settlement if insurance is desired. All purchases become the risk of purchaser as soon
as sold.
DELIVERY:
Consignors will help with trucking arrangements as much as possible. Cattle may be maintained for a reasonable period of time at sale pavilion while shipping
arrangements are made.
LUNCH:
Complimentary lunch and refreshments will be provided by the Central Kentucky Angus Association and served by the Garrard County Livestock Club.
EPDs:
The EPDs printed in this catalog were taken from the American Angus Association website and were current as of early August. If printed EPD is denoted as estimated,
the EPD was derived by averaging the EPDs of the sire & the dam, & consequently the registration certificate issued may not show an EPD for the individual animal.
AI CERTIFICATES:
NO AI certificates will be furnished for females bred to bulls not owned by the seller.
GENETIC DEFECTS:
Each animal in the sale will have a current status for AM, CA, NH & DD listed in this catalog or an update sheet which will be available sale day if that
status has changed since the publication of the catalog. CKAA is now accepting cattle into sales regardless of their genetic defect status as long as they are registered with the
American Angus Association. Potential carriers are denoted with a “P” in the notation of the genetic defect of which they are a potential carrier, ie. AMP, CAP, DDP, NHP. The
absense of any such notations means the animal is not regarded as a potential carrier because of the pedigree.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
All of the cattle selling will sell under the CKAA Sale Policy Terms and Conditions of Sale. Copies will also be available sale day.
