Welcome to Sarratt Farms and our 6th Annual Bull and Commercial Female Sale.
The offering this year is an exciting one as it displays without question the finest
crop of bulls ever raised here on the farm. We started these bulls differently this
year by fence-line weaning on Ryegrass and then transitioning them to limit-grazed
alfalfa and a corn silage and hay ration throughout their test. As a result these bulls
are heavier, healthier, more muscular, and display better dispositions compared to
previous sets of bulls. We hope you will agree with our assessment of these bulls as
you go through this book and our cattle on sale day.
In addition to our bulls we are also offering a solid set of commercial bred heifers
that will make great additions to any herd. These females were raised in a similar
fashion to the bulls but they did not have any access to alfalfa grazing. Most of these
heifers are AI’d and exposed to Jac’s Grass Master 0908, and are due to calve from
Sept through October. Look for their information on an update sheet on sale day.
It seems our program is always in development due to the numerous enterprises
we incorporate here. In addition to the cattle operation which has always been at
the forefront, we have 18 broiler houses, and maintain a three crop rotation on 1300
acres of farmland. This affords us a multitude of options in regards to management
while at the same time presents obvious issues of labor. A great deal of effort goes
into the day to day operation of Sarratt Farms and a large debt of gratitude is owed
to the people that allow us to function. A lot is asked of these gentlemen and they
always respond to the call. We very much appreciate their efforts and dedication.
We hope you can join us on sale day, March 9th, 2013. If you have any questions
or we can assist you in any way please feel free to call or stop by. Our cattle will be
penned Friday before the sale but they are always available for viewing. We hope to
see you on Sale Day.
Sincerely,
Bill Sarratt and Cody Bright
