Hello and Welcome!
We would like to welcome everyone to our annual production sale. For the past few years we have concentrated on private treaty and consign-
ment sales to market our bulls. Over the last two years we have added cows to nearly double our herd size. We are excited to return to an
annual production sale to market these bulls.
While increasing our cow base, we have maintained an emphasis on pedigrees and cow families that are out crosses to most herds in the USA
and Canada. We still emphasize performance with style. With all of the changes and fluctuations in the cattle market, one thing remains true
- performance is necessary in order to make a profit. Keeping this in mind, we strive for a balance of traits that are necessary for a complete
herd. Calving ease, maternal ability, disposition, as well as carcass traits are all important and are high on our culling criteria.
The bulls and heifers have been fed a growing ration from Hubbard Feeds. They receive a free choice ration of 12% protein pellets and free
choice grass and millet hay. They also have access to Crystalx Brigade mineral tubs, and a VitaFerm mineral supplement incorporated into the
feed ration.
This year we will have the sale at Klint’s new sale facility. All cattle will be sold by video, with the bulls and heifers available for viewing within
feet of the sale facility. No live animals will be entering the building. We will have the videos available for viewing on our website (www.
prairiehillsgelbvieh.com) and the MMS website (
). Any supplemental sale information will also be posted on these two sites. The
animals will be available for viewing beginning at 9AM on Saturday, February 16th.
We will be broadcasting this years sale through DVAuction. If you are unable to attend the sale and would like to bid, please contact DVAuction
prior to the sale to obtain your bidder information. We will also have people available if you choose to bid over the phone. Please contact Klint,
Galen, or any of the MMS staff so arrangements can be made.
Finding a hotel room in western ND can be difficult at time due to the oil boom. Please contact Klint if you are needing assistance obtaining
accomodations.
We would again like to thank everyone for their support over the years. Please stop by anytime to tour through the bull and female pens. If you
