This linebred Blackcap female traces to GAR Scotch Cap 867, the cornerstone of
carcass genetics in the Angus breed, on both sides of her pedigree. The donor dam
of 8248, VAR Precision 3305, is a direct daughter of GAR Precision 706 and is more
than simply the daughter of a famous cow, as she has a tremendous progeny produc-
tion record for ultrasound, with 39 offspring from 10 different sires currently eval-
uated by ultrasound having averaged 108 for IMF and 102 for RE. 3305 has been a
great cow and has generated well over $100,000 in progeny sales on her first five
daughters sold. The mating represented here doubles up the Blackcap lines, tying
full sisters-in-blood 706 and 2536 closely together for a genetic tabulation loaded
with additive value for multi-trait superiority.
8248’s two natural calves have balanced an average birth ratio of 91 with a weaning
ratio of 109. Three offspring evaluated by ultrasound have averaged 117 for IMF
and 106 for REA. This female posts elite genetics for not only growth and carcass
traits, but also for RFI and DOC, as expressed by her Genomic-Enhanced EPDs and
50K percentiles.
This is a great young cow that is in her prime and a true genetic breeding piece for
elite carcass! We have flushed 8248 twice for 22 high quality embryos.
