The donor dam of these flush sisters was selected by Duane Pankratz as the
$110,000 top-selling female of the historic Hoff Scotch Cap Dispersal in 2006
as the first 11-star Angus female ever identified in the GeneSTAR program as
homozygous for both quality grade and tenderness gene markers who went on
to record 19 stars in the more advanced GeneSTAR profile.
The sire of these heifers was the top feed-efficiency bull of his contemporary
group through the Midland Bull Test with outstanding individual and progeny
ratios that have placed him in a league of his own as an outcross, calving-ease
and balanced performance sire whose sons have dominated the 2012 and 2013
LaGrand Scotch Cap sales.
Two flushes from the donor dam of these heifers sold for $20,000 each in the
2007 National Western Foundation Female Sale with one selected by Stevenson
Angus Ranch of Montana, and the other to Salt Creek Angus of Texas.
The donor dam of these heifers is the all-time top-selling daughter of the
high-performance Pathfinder Sire, Hoff Limited Edition SC 594, and has a prog-
eny weaning ratio of 101 on two natural calves and a progeny yearling ratio
of 109 on one head along with progeny IMF and ribeye ratios of 102 and 101,
respectively, on eight head.
These heifers are from the same herd sire producing cow family that also pro-
duced a long line of prominent Hoff sires including Hoff Northlander SC 6029,
Hoff Esso SC 433, Hoff Dominator SC 978, Hoff Great Western SC 456, Hoff
Heartland SC 456 and Hoff Tradition SC 456.
A phenomenal flush of outcross females produced in the embryo program
with a unique and valuable genetic heritage.
