Welcome to the 27th annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo.
Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture
are proud to sponsor the premier beef cattle event in the Common-
wealth.
As a cattle producer myself, I fully understand the importance of a strong genetic
base in a successful cattle herd. At the Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo, you can up-
grade your herd from some of the best seedstock in the business. Young exhibitors also
can select project animals for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s 2013 show
circuit.
The Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo is highly regarded among exhibitors, buyers,
and sellers throughout the nation. Last year’s Beef Expo grossed more than
$1 million in sales with an average of $2,192 per head. It featured 485 lots and 203
consignors from 15 states.
On Sunday, junior exhibitors from throughout the Midwest will compete with some
of the best show stock in the country. Last year’s junior show featured 477 animals,
including 138 from Kentucky. The judging contest has grown into one of the top events
of its kind in the country, and we expect a great turnout again this year.
It all happens in one of the best facilities in the nation, the Kentucky Exposition Cen-
ter, with 1.2 million square feet of enclosed, climate-controlled exhibition space.
As Kentucky’s Commissioner of Agriculture, I am pleased to welcome you to this
great event. Please don’t hesitate to ask if my staff or I can help you in any way.
Sincerely,
Kentucky
