Although we have been in the Angus business for over 40 years and have sold bulls private
treaty in the past, this is our 10th annual bull sale at the farm! It’s crazy how time flies when
you’re having fun. It is all because of you that we are enjoying what we do. We are very thank-
ful to have customers and friends like you that believe in our cattle and continue to support
our program. We continue to work hard to find and raise top genetics to put your herds on top.
We search for bloodlines that don’t just excel in one or two traits but in multiple traits. This
starts with low to moderate birth weights, heavy weaning weights, putting pounds on in the
feedlot at a low cost, finishing at a weight the packers want and having the carcass qualities
the consumer wants. We believe at Weigel Angus, that is what our bulls are bred to do!
The offering we have selected to sell this year are among the best we have raised. Many
of them are recommended for heifers. They are out of some of the top bloodlines and have an
EPD package to walk with the best. They have been on a high roughage ration to ensure sound
feet and legs and high fertility so they can go out to the pasture and do what they are meant to
do. We have never trimmed hooves! If we have hoof, udder, or disposition problems they go!
As you see, we have a very strict culling plan.
There have been some changes this year, we went to a bigger sale book to provide you with
as much information as possible. We will have DV Auction video the bulls which will be online
and the video will be played on sale day. We also will be keeping the bulls and have them se-
men tested and delivered around April 1st. We can keep them until you need them for a cost of
$2.00 per head per day after April 1st. Our $100 discount still applies if you wish to take them
home within 7 days after the sale.
Also selling this year are 20 elite commercial open heifers. These heifers are daughters
of WAR Complete Answer 209 (Ref. Sire J), WAR Forward 706-908 (Ref. Sire K), and grand-
daughters of Sitz Alliance 6595 and SAV Bismarck. They have never been creep fed or im-
planted. They are on a complete shot program, dewormed and Banks vaccinated. A great set of
heifers with awesome maternal backgrounds.
