Welcome
to the 2015 TDA Winter Deer Auction at Pedrotti’s North
Wind Ranch in San Antonio. We are delighted to return to Pedrotti’s for
this annual auction event. You will notice on the agenda a departure
from our “normal routine.” Our deer sale is on Friday, February 13th,
followed by dinner, TDA PAC Auction and some great entertainment…

As for the line-up of Whitetail Deer Genetics in the auction, it’s all about
predictability and marketability. When I began as the auctioneer for
TDA over 13 years ago, it was often a struggle to identify lineage in a
pedigree more than two generations back. Now, it is not hard to find
genetics that have DNA-confirmed ancestry six generations back (or
more).
But even more importantly, breeders of Whitetail Deer in Texas and around the nation have identified
genetic traits that produce the most marketable deer. And even though there are variances in those traits
(gross score, width, typical frame, etc.), our industry has come to a point where buyers can feel confident in
the likelihood that particular matings will produce specific results.
The most exciting thing for us at Texas Deer Association is that our members can showcase these
predictable, marketable genetics in the nation’s leading deer auction forum: TDA Auctions!
As you look through this catalog, remember that we encourage you to contact us or any consignor regarding
any lots you may be interested in purchasing. We want both the seasoned breeders and new breeders as
well to feel comfortable in the auction process. If you are unable to attend, we will again be simulcasting the
sale in real time for bidding and viewing via DV Auction
